Rooms = We stayed in the 2 Bedroom lake view suite, it was very nice during first impressions. However behind the facade not everything was perfect as it felt like an empty show house. For example there was a full kitchen but no utensils or plates or cooking equipment etc ( fine for all inclusive but not okay if you actually wanted to use the kitchen and dining table ). Patio door locks were both faulty and there was an ant infestation in the master bathroom ( they actioned quickly but the ants came back quickly too ). Very limited storage space so we utilised a shelf in bedroom only to find out that the shelf had wet paint on it and it ruined some of our clothes. On a positive note the lounge area was very comfortable and outdoor space was very nice. Food and Drinks = When we were there ( april 2025 ) majority of the restaurants / bars were closed. We had payed for the all inclusive package however this is somewhat misleading. Breakfast : buffet dining area emphasise on food catering to solely korean guests for all meals, despite not being picky eaters we did have to resort to the kiddie section for a glimpse of appealing food which was disappointing to say the least. Difficult to get drinks at buffet restaurant as most guests at the buffet were not all inclusive. As all inclusive guests we thought we would able to visit all restaurants and pick and choose which of the restaurants to go to however we were told at check in we could only visit one restaurant once during our stay. Thus it was more than disappointing when we arrived at the near empty restaurant and discovered only 25% of the menu was available to all inclusive guests as the remaining 75% was only included for premium all inclusive members which was not a option to book on the website and no one mentioned all inclusive does not mean all inclusive. As a result we had to choose from vegetable paella or chicken paella or a fish dish. ( However after raising a complaint the issue was somewhat resolved for visitors who don’t want to complain this would not be a fair selection ). For lunch you can go to the underwhelming buffet or the snack bar menu at the main pool which was very good with plenty of choice however you could go here for an evening meal. Regarding drinks they were only available at one outlet and the service was very slow as well as this choice was somewhat limited as again the menu had a small amount of premium all inclusive options which you would have to pay for despite being all inclusive. The bar and restaurant ( in the ibiza bloc ) both were very empty and the bar specifically had no atmosphere and very limited seating as most the space was taken up by the near empty restaurant. Upstairs was a cocktail bar with karaoke seemingly with better seating, drink choice and atmosphere than downstairs. However it was not available to us as all inclusive guests only to premium all inclusive guests and again was mostly empty. Safety = very safe secluded resort however would of preferred doors to lock Walkability = For us we were lucky as breakfast was in walking distance however everywhere else you had to take a tuk tuk which were generally fast and efficient via phone app but limited areas to go to many areas were closed. Notable Details = Overall hotel is beautiful but pipes and bin bags are present around the rooms. We as a family would agree not to return or recommend at that price point due to the restrictions on all inclusive guests which were unexpected and the limited facilities. As northerners we could sum up the hotel as fur coat no knickers.

It's challenging to write this review because there was a lot of disappointments, however, there were also some positive aspects which has led me to increase my rating. I've stayed at Melia Hanoi and I was so impressed by their service that it lead me to believe the Melia chain are of high quality but I was truly wrong. Melia Vinpearl Phu Quoc is of lesser quality and not up to the high standard of a 5 star hotel and resort. The 3 bedroom villa is spacious and elegant, though it is worn and needs maintenance. For example, the cupboard door handle comes off in one of the room, the wall paint is flaking away, and at one point my son and I went out and couldn't get back in. The door was jammed, and my wife was inside and couldn't get out. We called for service. When I arrived back and met the person, I asked him what's wrong with the door, he said it's working. Which confused me. My wife explained afterwards she saw him picked up a screw that came out when he forced the door open that must have jammed the door. As for buffet breakfast, I was surprised that they scanned our faces at the door and then we were left on our own to find a table. Perhaps due to the large volume of guests they have decided to go with this option. I find that this is lack of service for a 5 star resort, it's just basic service to be taken to your table. The food and drinks were sub par. Coffee was self service from a coffee machine, which did not met our satisfaction so my wife ordered coffee from outside and paid for it separately. And this is where I increased my rating, there was a staff tidying up and she noticed we had coffee cup from outside and asked if everything was to our liking. My wife gave honest feedback and the staff member Gai, went out of her way to ensure we were happy and arranged for coffee to made for us the next morning. And surely she did, the next morning she remembered us and took our coffee order. This is high quality of service we expected from Melia and Gai delivered. Thank you. There was another occassion where another staff impressed us, we were waiting for the bus in the lobby, a male staff (unfortunately I didn't get his name), was next to the drink cart with small tables and chairs for kids. He invited my sons to sit down and play some board games while we waited. He was upmost polite and friendly. When our bus arrived, we went outside and this staff came rushing out and handed us a bottled water and wished us a lovely day. Service like this outstanding. This small gesture left a positive impression. Some other staff needs much more training, they lack courtesy and professionalism. The villa private pool is lovely. It is cleaned I think on a daily basis. Due to the enormous size of the resort, you'll need a tuk tuk to get around which is available 24/7. The tuk tuk service is a hit and miss, sometimes they come within 10 mins, other times much longer. The gaming room is fantastic, although with limited games on the playstation 4, it was still entertaining. Along with a pool table, table tennis, chess board (although this went missing the next time we went), checkers, and some kids books for reading was a fine touch to keep us entertained. The Yoda studio next door was clean and spacious. Overall, we had a nice family time here but probably won't be on our list to come back to this resort the next time we are in Phu Quoc. The resort as a lot of potential and I hope there will be some changes to make it a better experience for future guests.

During our recent 2-night stay at the Melia Vinpearl Phu Quoc in a 2-bedroom pool villa, we encountered several disappointing issues. I am sharing this experience transparently, without exaggeration, in the hope that no one else faces similar problems. Birthday Arrangement for My Sister Approximately two weeks prior, I informed the hotel that it would be my sister’s birthday on our check-in date. The hotel responded via email, confirming they would prepare a small cake for the occasion. I even reconfirmed this arrangement with the front desk on the day of check-in, and they assured me the cake was ready. However, upon entering the room, there was no cake. Unacceptable Room Condition Upon entering our villa, we were greeted by an unclean and poorly maintained room. The issues included: Dirty Utensils: A single fork and glass left uncleaned alongside visible trash. Dead Bugs: A dead insect near the cups. Stained Bedding: Both beds had yellow stains (resembling urine) and red stains (presumably blood). Broken Furniture: Damaged plastic on the shower door. Missing Cake: The promised birthday cake was not present. Attempt to Report Issues I immediately called the front desk from the phone in the room, requesting someone to come and inspect the condition. After waiting for 10 minutes with no response, I had to step out to find a staff member passing by to escalate the matter. Initial Response by Staff A staff member inspected the issues and took photos. They apologized and contacted the management team. While I initially believed the situation would be resolved promptly, this was not the case. Delayed and Inadequate Response Instead of offering a room change, as we expected, a housekeeping staff member arrived an hour later to clean the room. Given the unhygienic state of the villa, I refused the cleaning and requested a room change. However, the staff repeatedly stated that a change was not possible. Escalating the Matter As the discussion continued, a management staff member from the front desk arrived, also took photos, and apologized. Despite this, they reiterated that a room change was not possible. After strongly insisting on a change, it took three hours from our initial check-in time before they finally agreed to move us to a new room and provide the missing cake. However, by this point, we did not feel any gratitude for the cake. Further Delays Although they agreed to change our room, they informed us it would take additional time to prepare the new room. We had to wait until 6:47 PM to move into the new villa. Consequences of Poor Service Due to the hotel’s slow and insufficient response, we lost valuable time that we had planned to spend at VinWonders, for which we had purchased three tickets. This resulted in both financial and emotional distress. Conclusion This experience caused unnecessary stress and disappointment during what should have been a memorable trip. I hope sharing this account helps prevent others from facing similar issues in the future.

Sadly, we were only able to stay for 2 nights; however, those 2 nights were amazing and memorable. We booked a Level 3 BR beachfront villa for ourselves, our 2 children, and my parents. My parents were blown away by how beautiful the villa, beach, and facilities are; it was a true treat and one they'll never forget. The only downside is that we visited during the low season, so not all of the Level amenities were available. We were a bit disappointed because this wasn't obvious on the website when I booked; however, the manager (Victor) made time to address this personally with me.

Staff: Victor and all the Level staff went out of their way to do all they could so that we didn't feel we had missed out on any of the Level benefits or conveniences. I was truly touched by our conversation and how he took the time to genuinely understand and appreciate the significance of this trip for my family (my father is 82 y/o and may not be able to return to Vietnam again). Victor even took the time to send me a personal message after we left, since he was not present on our departure date. In this message, he again shared how touched he was by our family's visit and my father's love for Vietnam and family. Victor, Esme, Stark, Jodie, Min, Vi, Ryan, and all the Level staff were truly exceptional. Their warmth, hospitality, friendliness, and professionalism truly stand out. Any requests we had (e.g., buggy service, extra towels, beverages at the Ibiza beach area, off-resort transportation requests, etc.) were received and delivered with enthusiasm and efficiency. Communication through WhatsApp was fantastic.

Resort: Everything is stunning! The villa was tastefully decorated, large, incredibly clean, and well-appointed. Although there are some details that are not "pristine" (e.g., minor caulking work, etc.), we thought the villa was comparable to similarly priced luxury resorts we've stayed at in Mexico, Jamaica, and the DR. This doesn't bother us at all; however, I thought I'd mention it since I know some travelers are a bit more fussy about this. We did experience some minor inconveniences in the villa (e.g., running toilet, request for beach towels, A/C operation in one room), the Level staff attended to these in record time.

Food and Drinks: The food at the buffet was very good and offered a bountiful variety of international and Vietnamese cuisine. Believe it or not, the bánh cuốn was the best I had during the trip, even rivaling my mom's! My husband and I had dinner at the Spanish restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by how good everything was, we'd definitely return! Although the resort is at a higher price point, we found all the restaurant prices very reasonable. Alcoholic drinks were GREAT! Not at all watered down like they often are in Mexico--really, really, tasty and generous!

Level: Even if I had known in advance that not all the Level benefits (e.g., private pool and beach area) were available during our stay, I still would have booked the Level villa simply for the gorgeous, beachfront location. Zero regrets. Also, we really enjoyed the Level lounge. Even though we were typically the only ones there, the staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The Level lounge and bar were the only places in Vietnam that I had good, white wine! I can only imagine how great the lounge must be during the high season. During the low season the snacks were pretty limited, but the daily cocktail hour was really nice and fun (only suggestion is to include more savory snacks as part of the spread). The day we left we were gifted some really nice Level-branded souvenirs (sun hats that my daughter and mother LOVED, water bottles for kids, beach bags); these were much, MUCH nicer than any other club level gifts we've received from other...

Best hotel we've ever stayed at.

Simply put the meliã could not have done anything more for us as guests. We were extremely well treated, with staff that are a credit to the hotel in itself. Not only that, but excellent food, drinks, and also impressive facilities.

Particularly, with the service and management, Vyan, Stephen, Antoni and also Jonas were excellent, all extremely kind, helpful and overall sorted anything we desired, making our stay memorable and also incredible. For example, we have an extremely severe nut allergy within the group and so we were worried that we wouldn't be able to eat at the buffet, or some A la Carte restaurants. However, upon arrival this was taken note of, and Stephen, the executive chef, was incredible. Every single night we ate (whilst staying for 11 nights,) Stephen worked tirelessly to ensure that anything we wanted to eat in the buffet or the restaurants was without nuts entirely, sometimes even delivering food to our table himself, during the busiest times, Christmas and new year. It's safe to say that Stephen is a credit to the resort and we cannot thank him enough.

Additionally, Vyan, part of the guest experience team, too was incredible. Anything we desired, whether it was getting us a tuk tuk/buggy, and everything possibly else, sorting out everything, made our stay incredibly special. She welcomed us on arrival after taking note of the allergy, she made sure we felt safe in all restaurants with the allergy, booked all restaurants for us, making our stay incredibly relaxing, knowing she was there. Again we cannot credit, or thank her enough.

Both Antoni (executive manager,) and Jonas (F&B manager,) too worked tirelessly to ensure everyones stay was perfect to each fine detail. They too must be credited for all their hard work.

Furthermore, all the staff and tuk tuk drivers were very fun, friendly, efficient, and hardworking, which we must appreciate for their valued work.

ROOMS: At the meliã, we stayed in a 2-bedroom villa, with a private pool. It is safe to say that this was incredible, and the best room we have ever booked, especially for the price. The inside was luxurious, whilst the outside was very grand, yet modern. The private pool, overlooking the river was beautiful, spotless and just breathtaking. We highly, highly recommend this resort.

FACILITIES: The resort is equipped with 3 pools, and 4 buildings, one of which, is for the level only. I must say that each of these pools are flawless, beautiful and relaxing. The resort is situated on bai dai beach, a beautiful one. In the main pool (ibiza building) there are many activities to enjoy such as foam parties, aqua gym, zumba and dance, and much more, which get the entire family involved. These are run by the amazing and enthusiastic animator team. Too the tuk tuks/buggies are efficient, and add a nice touch to the resort, making it feel like a town. Once again, we cannot fault this.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE: The food in this resort is delectable, along with the drinks. All A la Carte restaurants, Doki Doki, Cape Nao and Casa Nostra are all delicious, with vast menus. The buffet at both breakfast and night are amazing, with vast choices, and many stations. Additionally, the cape nao bar is a great touch for drinks throughout the day. Lunch too cannot be faulted, with menus for light snacks and also main meals, and not to forget, desserts.

We highly recommend this hotel as an incredible, relaxing getaway for everyone. Simply put, we cannot fault this place, as everything from the service to the rooms, to the food and beverage just blew us away. All the effort from the staff don't go unnoticed, each aspect of the resort made our stay unbelievable, and one which we wish to...
