Trang Thuong Villa — Hotel in Phú Quốc

I booked our holiday at Trang Thuong Villa via Agoda one month in advance. The price, pictures, and reviews seemed promising, so we were excited for our stay. However, when we arrived, the receptionist claimed they couldn’t find our reservation, even though we had already paid in full. After two hours of back-and-forth with the staff, they informed us that they could not provide the room we booked. Instead, they offered us a completely different room for an additional $22 per night. The new room looked nothing like what we had originally reserved.

Since it was late at night, we reluctantly accepted the room and spent hours trying to resolve the issue with Agoda. Thankfully, Agoda refunded our initial payment, and we moved to a five-star resort the following day. We left without so much as an apology from the staff.

My assumption is that the villa deliberately overbooks rooms across different platforms and then assigns substandard accommodations to guests who paid lower prices.

As for the location itself: while the resort bears some resemblance to the pictures online, it is far from clean and does not meet Western standards. The bed sheets, towels, and the room in general were dirty. The breakfast buffet was cheap and left me feeling unwell. The surrounding area is also disappointing—there’s little more than construction sites and a few local shops nearby.

If you’re on a very tight budget, this place might be an option. However, for just a little more money, you can find far better...

We had an unique experience of staying in Trang Thuong Villa for 10 days, while most of the time we were the only visitors. The hotel staff was still very friendly and we had buffet breakfast with 4-5 different dishes every day (no coffee during breakfast though, just instant one in the room). The pool was superb, very clean and not too much chloeine. Our kids played there for hours. Villa with 2 bedrooms is also quite good and two rooms don't disturb each other too much. Main downside is location - you have to Grab pretty much everywhere. But the location can also be advantageous when going on snorkelling tours from An Thoi - being the last to be picked up and first to return to hotel. There are still few okayish local shops and even a pharmacy in walking distance (no card payment option there though). Closest afford place for eating that we found was Waterfront...

Жили здесь 15 дней, занимали полностью один дом, в котором была небольшая общая прихожая и две отдельные комнаты с личным санузлом в каждой. Что могу сказать в итоге по плюсам: Комнаты просторные, есть холодильник, чайник, кондиционер, вентилятор - всё отлично работало. В ванной есть гель, шампунь и различные гигиенические наборы, воду приносят ежедневно. Территория достаточно большая, чистая, есть бассейн, за ним следят. Тихое и спокойное место. Очень не дорого по цене. Сотрудники отзывчивые, если что-то случается, помогают. Есть услуги прачечной и бар.

Что не понравилось: Английский знает один человек из всего персонала. Завтрак скудный и не особо вкусный, мы по большей части уезжали утром в кафе. Нет нормального кофе. Хромает уборка номеров, её делают по запросу, но бывало и так, что просить приходилось по несколько раз, просто вешать табличку с просьбой на дверь- не работает. Отсутствие раскладных сушилок для мокрых вещей. Жёсткая кровать. За пределами виллы много стройки и мусора. Жить в этом месте лучше имея машину или байк, иначе будет сложно куда-то выбраться, у нас всегда есть личное средство передвижения, но если вы «пешком», то лучше выбрать другой вариант жилья, так как даже до приличного пляжа...
