Champa Resort — Hotel in Phan Thiết City

I don’t even know where to begin so I may ramble on. We stayed at Champa for 3 nights. BIG MISTAKE. The hotel tackles on all sorts of fees upon check in. The location is far from everything. It’s on a busy road where cars drive fast and feels unsafe but the worst part of that was that there were no convenient ways to get anywhere. If you don’t have a private car and driver, be prepared to pay a premium price to get anywhere as the hotel will call one of their drivers for you, charging twice as much. The last straw for me was when they wanted to charge me 50k per pillow per night when we were charged for the 4th person (6yr old child) upon check in. (I paid 600k per night extra for a cot since there were two adults and 2 children under 8. Their reasoning for only three pillows for a 4 person room is that a child doesn’t need a pillow. I’ve never been at a hotel with this kind of policy. I mentioned this and reception told me to leave a review since they can’t do anything about it. Our room was close to the pool where loud music blasts throughout the day and at night until 10pm on a Friday night. The breakfasts were old and tasteless. It appears the food (especially pastries) are many days old. They were either dry or very stale. The most edible dish was their daily soups. The staff were not friendly. The most pleasant were the housekeepers. I left them a tip only to find out the person that came to check the room while I was checking out took the cash. I know this because we left something behind and went back in shortly after. Oh, and don’t lose your room key. It’s worth 200k. Might be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. This would have to be the worst hotel I have stayed in since I was backpacking as a teenager. The rooms were located about 20m from the busy coast road, where trucks would go by all night, at very high speed. The noise was so immense that the bed was shaking, negating the most important function of a hotel room: to get a good nights sleep. I paid a staggering 74usd/night, you'd expect to at least to get a good nights sleep after a long day of travelling, but this proved to be impossible. The bed itself wasn't bad, but the rest of the room was about the same standard as an 8usd motel room, just bigger. The state of the room was appalling, to say the least. Paint falling off the walls, lamps broken, dirty, and all amenities as cheap as can be. It was full of mosquitos, which didn't help with the frustrations. Apart from all this, the place was completely deserted, and we had to struggle to get food at their restaurant (pasta with heated canned pasta-sauce on, and semi-stale bread) I sincerely hope no one falls for the fake 4-star rating they have given themselves. Subtract the beach and pool, it should be 1-2 star at best, and the price should be dramatically lower, due to the fact that it's impossible to sleep there. I recently stayed at Champa Resort in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, and I was very disappointed with my experience. The customer service was poor, the hygiene was bad, and the amenities and rooms were in bad condition.

When I first arrived at the resort, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. He didn't seem to know anything about the resort or the surrounding area, and he was very slow to check me in.

The room I was given was dirty and poorly maintained. The sheets were stained, the towels were threadbare, and the floor was filthy.

The amenities at the resort were also disappointing.The gym was small and outdated. And the restaurant was overpriced and the food was mediocre.

Overall, I would not recommend Champa Resort to anyone. The customer service is poor, the hygiene is bad, and the amenities and rooms are in bad condition. If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday, stay away from Champa...
