Meliá Vinpearl Phu Ly — Hotel in Phu Ly City

We needed to get to Phu Ly a day earlier then planned and the staff (thanks Thi) were very attentive and flexible to meet our needs. They helped out with arranging a driver for us (AUD$72) from Ninh Bình to Phu Ly without any issue.

From arrival the service was outstanding, although prepare for some basic Vietnamese as it’s a lot easier to order and arrange things when speaking it over English.

The room was beautiful with wonderful views over the river and city. Our room, the king deluxe, was beautiful with a true king bed.

Meals and cocktails were delicious and great value for money given the luxury we experienced here. Breakfast was from a great selection of regional and western selections, again the staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive.

The swimming pool was great for the kids and big kids alike.

Vinpearl is situated within walking distance from pretty much everything Phu Ly has to offer. Check out Chua Bao for an experience with the couple that run it, offering prayers and tea in the beautiful Chua of multiple statues and prayer statues. The lake is beautiful with cafes surrounding it. Also see the other churches and temples in the area for things to do (search things to see in Phu ly).

The market is only a 12 min walk away and worth a look for cooking, fishing and clothing needs.

Street food is recommended as a try too with Banh My Mit being one of our favourites for a meal. At night, if not eating in the restaurant (which is delicious) go opposite to Sieu thi xe Dien 30-4 bien hoa for best lemon grass chicken in town.

For shoppers there’s a plaza downstairs with clothing, toys, trinkets and a cinema.

All round a wonderful experience in this growing town, and thank you to all of the team here especially Thi who helped me out with transport, food, accomodation and my Vietnamese!

My parents stayed in this hotel in room 2208 from Nov 15 to 21. Everything was fine at the beginning, I meant it was average service but considering good at a 2-3 tier city. Then we went travel and come back to stay from Nov 25 to 31. This time was absolutely disappointed!!! They assigned them a room in the 10th floor (which is downgrade from the upper level) and the pillows smell disgusting. It smelled like dirty head that the room was not clean, they did not change the pillow cover or not even bother to wash the pillows sometimes, so they smelled disgusting!!!! And the receptionist didn’t even think it was a big deal, only changed another room for them. If you ever stay here, make sure to sniff the pillow to check if them cleaned. For trash bin, they even forgot to put back the trash bag! That deserve a 5...
