Kenny's homestay is not yet on Trip Advisor but it is worth every penny you spend...which is really not much at all! The rooms are clean and come with a nice double bed, aircon, fan, fridge and private bathroom with toilet and shower.
The amenities are basic but functional. However it is the owners who make this place worthwhile. Run by a charming local Vietnemese couple, they make you feel instantly welcome and at home. Don't be surprised if Dieuk (Not sure if I'm spelling that correctly) invites you up to the roof for some drinks and fruit and do take him up on the offer. He is a fun and friendly host. A former maths teacher in Quy Nhon, Dieuk will break out his guitar and play some music at night. And as he is an excellent guitar player, I would recommend you take him up on any invitation he makes.
Remember though; this is a homestay, not a hotel, so don't expect hotel style service. That said, Dieuk and his wife will happily help you out with anything you might need eg. Taxis, restaurant recommendations etc. Just try and learn some basic Vietnemese to help you manage. Dieuk speaks broken English and is keen to learn more. I was learning some basic Vietnemese so between us we managed to make ourselves understood. 😊
A great little block of rooms located at the quieter end of Quy Nhon beach right opposite a big hotel. The entrance is down a little alley so can be easy to miss when you first arrive buy don't worry as the address...
Read moreWhat an amazing place to stay. The rooms are clean, have constant hot shower, and is close to the beach. Although the beds are a bit hard (and a bit uncomfortable), this should NOT be a reason to not visit this place. ||When we arrived at 7am, the owners were already waiting for us and we could check in immediately. After a couple more minutes, the owner came up to us with a cup of tea. He saw that i wanted to smoke on the balcony, so when i got back to the balcony, even though I didn't ask for anything, He put a chair and ashtray there for me to be comfortable. ||They arranged a scooter for us with no profit for them. And although they don't have a laundry service, they saw us carrying a big pile of laundry. When we asked him if he knew a place where we could do it (the laundromat we went to was closed), he said he would do it.. for free!||Really, these people are among the friendliest people we've met in Asia. Our last night they invited us to come to the rooftop and enjoy beers, Vietnamese bbq and listen to him play his guitar. Even thought their English isn't that good, it turned out to be an amazing night and the communication was very easy. And he plays the guitar REALLY well!||If we ever come back to Quy Nhon, this is the place we will go to!||Thank you so much for an...
