Following helpful communication with Ms Anh in advance arranging transport for our trip, and the fabulous photos of the resort, I had high expectations.||However, the actual experience was somewhat disappointing. ||The room had a balcony with an amazing view, but nothing to sit on to relax and enjoy it. There were no chairs in the room either to move there. ||The same with the pool. Looked great (although water was rather cloudy) but not a single chair or bed to use before or after a dip. What are you supposed to do? ||In the bathroom the shower drain is positioned just next to the toilet so the whole area gets wet. Make sure you wear your waterproof shoes when if you go to the toilet any time after.||There is only 1 waste bin for the room which is in the toilet but with no lid. Not great for used toilet paper.||The bath in the room, whilst looking great is really impractical and awkward to use and results in water all over the floor.||I had understood this was a quiet retreat, however the resort is next to a track used by hundreds of motorbikes and down in the valley there is construction work all day which adds to the noise and disrupts the tranquility. Fortunately this does quieten at night allowing a peaceful nights sleep.||No safe is provided, but there is a notice saying don't leave your valuables in the room and offering no alternative.||I asked if they had a local walking map, but was told they didn't have one. I guess they want to sell tours rather than help guests do their own thing.||Breakfast was very basic and lacking some staples such as any cereal, water (other than sugar water), butter and choices such as egg were not obvious without asking specifically.||The whole breakfast experience was far from what one would expect in a supposed 4* resort.||Service seemed to lack any of the warmth we have experienced everywhere else in Vietnam and made you feel awkward if you asked for anything. ||All in all, Hanasa is a massive disappointment and flatters to deceive. Whilst the views and Pu Luong are spectacular, with so many other options in the area I could not recommend...
Read morePu Luong is the perfect destination for those seeking peace, breathtaking landscapes, and an authentic local experience. My stay at Hanasa Pu Luong Resort last October was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming, even allowing me to check in early. With only 12 rooms, the resort felt private and exclusive, making it a perfect escape from the crowds.
The highlight of my stay was definitely the stunning views—my room overlooked endless rice terraces and majestic mountains. Everything felt so serene and untouched. The resort also arranged amazing tours, which made my trip even more special. At first, I considered renting a car to explore on my own, but the staff recommended booking a local guide—and I’m so glad I did! He took us to hidden gems, shared fascinating stories about the culture, and made the experience so much more immersive. In the end, I realized this was the best way to connect with Pu Luong’s beauty and traditions!
One thing to note is that the road leading to the resort is quite steep, so I’d recommend walking the last 50 meters for safety. However, it’s a small effort for such an incredible experience.
Overall, Hanasa Pu Luong Resort exceeded my expectations. It’s the perfect place to disconnect, enjoy nature, and experience local life. I can’t wait...
Read moreWe stayed in the Premium Valley View Bungalow, which was beautiful with an incredible view from the balcony.
Unfortunately, we had a frustrating experience where we spent nearly an entire day without electricity (no light, no AC, and no Wi-Fi) and no water to shower after walking a lot in the heat. It was a miserable day—we struggled to sleep because it was too hot, and I was constantly thirsty. I understand this situation wasn’t under the resort’s control (they lacked a generator, unlike other hotels in the area), but it definitely put a damper on our stay. While the owner mentioned that the risk of this happening is supposedly low, guests should be aware that it can still occur.
While we were compensated with a dinner (worth less than half of what we paid per night), it didn’t feel sufficient for the night we lost.
As for the food, the regular menu was disappointing, and the coffee and mango smoothie didn’t compare to the delicious options we’ve enjoyed throughout Vietnam. I was initially let down by having omelettes for two consecutive breakfasts, expecting something more local. However, I later learned that we could request Vietnamese dishes, and I’m glad we did! The Vietnamese breakfast...
