We (a young couple from Germany) stayed the singing Gibbon Homestay for two nights to visit the Cat Tien Nationalpark. Pros: - about 5min walk from the enterence of the national park - Rooms had ha decent size and a softer mattress then the usual ones in Vietnam. - Hot shower - Good food ( although, compared to the food in the town center, rather expensive) Cons: -rude owner - wants to make money The owner tries to make money with Tourist. As soon as we arrived his wife asked if we want to do a boat tour or a evening gibbon tour. Seeing the price seemed rather expensive we denied. Later on he offered the early morning gibbon tour. He said it costs 1.2 Millon VND. Including enterancfee and the boot to the park. I agreed. After talking to another tourist I found out that the tour (if booked with the reception of the Park) only costs. 995.000 VND. First the owner didn't want to tell me that he mad a "different price" for me an that this includes a 200.000 VND. As I confronted him with the price and that he intentionally didn't tell me about the extra fee he got mad and loud. Later on he at least gave me 150.000 VND back. Working in the Hotel business my own being rude and loud towards customer ist a big no go.

Great food with big portions, low prices, cold beers, and really nice people serving! The family speaks very good, expressive English and there are lots of kids entertaining you by showing off their puppies and toys. The pets are also very friendly :) we bought a delicious watermelon and a pineapple from them, and they cut the pineapple for us, then threw in a pomello and bananas as a token of our good custom. This restaurant will open a Homestay in April and based on the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, it should be a big success! Thank you, Gibbon Singing Homestay!

We had a great stay with Mr Co and his family at the Gibbon Singing Home Stay. They will provide you with all the info you need to visit Cat Tien National Park, which is a 5 minute walk away. Mr Co helped us to book the Gibbon Trek and to visit Dao Tien Endangered Primates Centre. Both were great experiences. He can also help book buses to/from HCMC and Dalat and provide transfers to and from the bus. The rooms are modern and air-conditioned and you can also order tasty food and drinks cooked by his family.

Ok so the room is ok, but as you spend little time in it, it really doesn’t matter. Firstly the food, terrible really terrible amongst the worst we have eaten in Vietnam and we have been here for 4 months. The restaurant area itself is dirty, tables not wiped, chicken crap all over the floor. We had a family dinner which cost 150,000 dong per person which was clearly for them most of it inedible, boiled rooster so tough you could not get your teeth into it, same as the beef. Soup with the noodles and small pickled onions the only things edible. If you walk a few doors down you will find 2 much better places to eat that are cleaner and cheaper. We rented bicycles for a day we expected to pay 30,000 dong ( we have had them free at all other home stays) when we received our bill they were 30,000 per hour, we have rented scooters for 150,000 per day, total rip off. We went on a boat trip that cost 200,000 per person for two hours of bum numbing boredom. They greet you with smiles, don’t be fooled you are treated as a cash cow. To top it all when querying the bill our bus arrived. We had asked for our bill 3 times. He was so slow to take payment which on reflection seemed like a ploy to make us pay a bill where he had over charged us because we had to get the bus. We even paid for a bottle of water which we never got! This seems minor, but sums up their whole approach to taking money from foreign visitors. All the tours are so overpriced, we did the crocodile lake on our own, including bike hire in the park, entrance fee and entrance fee to the lake for 360,000 per person. If you go through Singing Gibbon, it will set you back 1,300,000 per person!||We have spent the last 4 months travelling in Vietnam, this has been one of the worst home stays....

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this place is. The location is perfect and the bungalows are surrounded by fruit trees and beautiful sunrises. The bungalows themselves are cozy, have very strong WiFi and air con. The shower was great and the bed comfortable. ||Co and Hien run a beautiful home where they make you feel like you are part of the family. Twice I was invited to lunch with the family. They made sure to listen to what my interests where and recommended some tours. I did the nighttime safari, the early morning jungle walk/ gibbon spotting followed by a tour of the gibbon rescue center. I finished it off with a sunset boat cruise where Co expertly spotted and named all kinds of birds and monkeys. ||This family made me miss my own family by making me part of theirs. They took interest in my life and what I do, even took me to the local fair and before I headed out made sure I had enough fruit to last me for weeks. I had mentioned to Co how I wanted to buy a new luggage rack for my motorcycle and had had no luck finding one, before my trip was over Co had a welder come and build me one. The food was incredible and authentic. ||I wish I could have stayed there longer, and hope I can come back...
