We stayed three nights at Green Hope Lodge, and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Even before we arrived, the staff promptly answered all our questions and helped us book tours in Cát Tiên National Park. The warm welcome we received upon arrival set the tone for a relaxing stay. The lodge has a rustic charm, situated right by the river with beautiful views of the lush national park across the water. The buildings are thoughtfully spaced out, and the peaceful property feels like its own little haven, set back from the main street by a quiet driveway. One of the highlights was being close enough to hear gibbons singing in the early morning. There are cozy pavilions by the river where you can relax in the shade and soak up the serene atmosphere.
Our 4-person room offered a great river view and a spacious balcony. The picture on the website is accurate. The beds were comfortable, and there was a modern en-suite bathroom. While we did need to ask for a second cleaning of the bathroom, the staff quickly took care of it, and a simple cleaning checklist would fix this.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating to all our needs, from arranging tours and transport to delivering breakfast in the park. They helped arrange a new driver when our onward transportation unexpectedly was canceled. We ate breakfast and dinner at the lodge, and also enjoyed a packed lunch for our park excursions. Breakfast offers a choice of baguette and eggs, or pancake. We added in fresh mango smoothie. The dinner menu includes a range of flavorful rice and noodle dishes, and we especially loved the flavorful stir-fry fish with steamed rice and green pepper.
We joined two tours (the Crocodile Lake hike and the early morning Gibbon Tour), both of which were breathtaking. We also made an afternoon trip to the Ta Lai Cocoa Farm, a must-visit for chocolate lovers.
Beyond comfort and convenience, we appreciated the lodge’s eco-friendly initiatives. They use solar power and solar-heated water, recycle plastic, and promote responsible tourism by supporting the national park and nearby animal rescue center. The overall vibe is family-friendly and perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.
We wholeheartedly recommend Green Hope Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming base to explore Cát Tiên National Park. The comfortable accommodations, friendly hosts, and unbeatable location right by the river and close to the park entrance make this...

Read moreA highlight of our trip in Southern Vietnam! Luan was able to accommodate us at a fairly last minute request, with smooth private transfers from Da Lat and onward to HCMC. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, with excellent English and helped us to book tours which made our trip unforgettable including the gibbon trek and evening river boat. We saw an abundance of wildlife on both (gibbons, kingfishers, bats, Komodo dragon, monkeys at dusk in a tree, many other birds).
The food was great, especially the set dinner menu and homemade pineapple beer. The service was also great and efficient.
The rooms had a lovely view to the river and it was a delight to hear the gibbons and many species of birds singing each morning. The inside of the room was fairly basic (as to be expected in the jungle) but was clean and comfortable with mosquito bed nets and air con. The hammocks outside were a joy to bask in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The lodge isn't far from the park entrance atall (5 mins walk) and bikes were available to rent. We opted to rent bikes in the park, as Luan kindly informed us that it would save a ferry charge for taking them over. However, I would say the lodges bikes looked in alot better condition than the park ones though, so would maybe be worth it if planning a full day on a bike (the park ones were fine for a small scoot about). Luan and his father kindly dropped us at the entrance on their scooters for a couple of our tours, which I thought was great service and kindness.
It may seem tempting to book a tour package that includes everything for you at the click of a button (as we had tentatively planned) but we actually found that staying at Green Hope Lodge, selecting specific tours that we wanted to do and arranging tailored transport through them made for a much better experience, whilst being very cost effective too. Special thanks to Luan for making this possible.
A truly magical jungle stay with a very genuine and kind family, which I'd recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Cat Tien. We changed our plans last minute to stay two nights and we are so glad we did. Thanks...
