Chamba Valley Exotic Hotel — Hotel in Lusaka Province

During my recent stay at Chamba Valley Exotic Hotel , I found that the hotel offered a blend of positives and negatives that shaped my overall experience.

Pros:

Spacious Rooms: The rooms were notably spacious, providing ample room for comfort and relaxation.

Friendly Bar Staff: The bar staff were welcoming and receptive to custom requests, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Gym Access: Although often busy, the inclusion of gym facilities is a commendable feature.

Cons:

Faulty Shower: Despite its fancy appearance, the shower in my room had several functional issues. The faucet was non-operational, and other features were faulty.

Poor Food Quality: The dining experience was disappointing. The chicken drumsticks I ordered were undercooked and took an unusually long time to be served.

Uncomfortable Atmosphere: The hotel seems to cater primarily to business professionals. This made the common areas, like the pool and dining room, feel less welcoming for casual guests.

Neglected Maintenance: The air conditioning in my room was not working. Despite requests for repair, the issue was not addressed.

Busy Gym: The gym is often occupied by regular members, which can limit access for hotel guests.

Overall Impression: For a short stay, Chamba Valley Exotic Hotel might suffice, but I would hesitate to recommend it for longer visits. The hotel has potential, especially with its friendly bar staff and spacious rooms, but significant improvements are needed in maintenance, food quality, and creating a more welcoming environment...

Disappointing Stay - No Electricity, No hot water and Poor Service

I booked a 4-day stay at this hotel, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, I was not informed that there was no electricity, which lasted for two days—on the first and third days of my stay. Even worse, no one at reception briefed me on how things worked in the room. The staff member simply walked me to my room and left me in the dark—literally.

In room 18, the toilet did not flush properly, which was quite inconvenient. The aircon doesn't function. Additionally, there were no pillowcases on the bed, which is unacceptable in any hotel.

Breakfast was a disappointment as well. Despite arriving at 08:30 (well within the 10:00 cutoff), most of the food was already gone, and I was greeted by empty trays and flies allover the place. The coffee offered was "Recoffy", and the hotel used a manual hot water dispenser. For a hotel, I strongly suggest investing in a proper coffee machine.

Overall, my experience was extremely underwhelming, and I hope the hotel takes steps to improve its service...

My 5 day visit at this hotel was generally OK.

However, there are these issues; The rooms are generally okay, despite the issue with the aircons.

2.Conference room service is pathetic, they will serve you tea break and snacks without hot water, how they expect you to make a cup of hot tea, I have no idea.

The tea cups are dirty 🤮, check carefully before you use them, infact rinse your cup before use.

On 29th day of February, 2024 during lunch time i found a cockroach in my food, a portion of vegetables I got had a cockroach in it 🤮. I reported the issue to one of the waitress, the chef just sent an opology and said they will pack me chicken as a way of apologizing...until my last day of my stay I never saw the chicken.

On the table where I sat during lunch with other users of the premises, they also complained of how flies where all over their tea break snacks.

Hygiene aspect is an issue here, there's need to improve, they should not focus only on...
