When in Zambia one never knows what to expect when booking something off the net. We had heard about Kaliyangile from friends, so decided to try it. ||||We had a good and bad experience, which was a little unfortunate for the owners, because the circumstances were beyond their control - the guest house had experienced good old Zambian 'load shedding' and so electricity had been off all day. When it came on all geysers switched on at the same time, and as a result the load was very high, resulting in power going on and off for a while. So the water was only warm, as opposed to hot, which was disappointing. ||||However the room was big, spacious, lovely queen bed with excellent linen and pillows. Obligatory mozzie net. We all had an excellent night's sleep.||||A kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave, stove and basic kitchen requirements. ||||This guest house is that it is fairly close to a poorer area, and some people may not feel comfortable with it. However we had no security issues, and know a number of people who have stayed here without problems.||||I would try this place...

Read moreA regular guest at Kaliyangile. Have passed on this lovely place to many others. Fantastic, efficient, friendly staff and owners; good clean, delicious food that arrived quickly. Manager extremely flexible to fit in big groups. Child friendly. Spacious, beautifully cleaned, rooms with tv with basic channels, a kettle and small fridge. Very reasonably priced. What ever you need, they can make a plan. Nice...
