Wonderful experience staying at the Pamarah Lodge and would recommend to anyone planning on staying at Vic Falls Zimbabwe. For point of reference for this review, it was my wife and I staying for 4 nights. The accommodations were exactly as described in the advertisements and very comfortable and cosy. We specifically wanted to stay in a smaller establishment and avoid the larger ones which can leave you feeling more like a number than a person. Pamarah Lodge lived up to that personal touch from the onset...check out the included photo of the message which welcomed us upon arrival.|The Pamarah Lodge did not disappoint--it exudes character and charm. A combination of mature expansive trees and a variety of ground vegetation wrap you in their lush embrace as you walk along the short meandering path through the lodge compound. The environment encourages pleasant conversation and engagement with fellow visitors and staff, while also allowing you spaces for quiet and more private conversations. Pamarah feels more like a vacation home with the added value of staff who cater to your needs and allow you to completely relax. |Let's talk about that staff...in a word - superb. Every single member of the Pamarah staff we engaged with, from initial emails with our questions and requests before arrival, to front desk, bar/restaurant, maintenance, housekeeping and groundskeepers were without fault. We were always met with welcome smiles and greetings, and a willingness to support us. If we needed help or information--readily and expeditiously provided. If we had a request or needed to make a change in some plans--happy to oblige or offer alternative solutions. Clearly there is a culture of making the guest feel welcome and appreciated. Talking about appreciation of staff, there is a tip box for staff located in the front lobby area. If you feel the same way we did about the staff when you check out--be sure to let them know how much you appreciate their effort by leaving a generous tip to recognize their efforts and encourage their ongoing motivation.|Lastly, we met owner Phil on the morning of our checking out. We enjoyed our short discussion with him, and it was obvious that the warmth of the staff and the culture at Pamarah is from the top -down. |Thanks to the Pamarah Lodge for being such a great part of our memorable 20th Anniversary trip. Hope to see you all again. ...
Read moreI have traveled over 65 countries and I don't usually write review about the hotels or lodgings. However, I am compelled to write my review about this particular accommodation, Pamarah Lodge.
Pamarah Lodge had everything I needed and hoped for. It was so personalized to my needs. The room had lots of space for storing suitcases, quick-responding air-conditioning and lots of outlets including US outlets and USB ports for my computer. I regretted having bought the outlets in Johannesburg before coming to Pamarah Lodge.Wi-Fi was strong. Freshly ground coffee and a French press was the highlight of the room, as I always like to have coffee first before breakfast. What a treat! The cookies were delicious and were stocked each day. Pamarah Lodge sells their own coffee brands and I bought some. It is really good! The stainless steel water flask was filled with water and you can fill them whenever you need.
The bathroom was bright and immaculate. It had lots of storage for my cosmetics and my husband's toiletries, with plenty of towel rods, which I rarely find. I carry dish soap and a wash pad and always wash cups and glasses in hotels before I use them. But here in Pamarah Lodge I felt that it was not necessary, for the first time.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast had everything I needed and it was delicious!
I will always remember Pamarah Lodge and will insist that my son and his wife stay there if they come...
Read moreMornette and Phil along with their 2 children make the Pamarah Lodge feel like home away from home. They stride for personal and exceptional service from the moment you enter their property. It truly is a family owned and operated lodge with family hospitality. They make a point to introduce themselves during your visit to get to know you and make sure your needs are being meet.
Call or email them directly and they will give you a better price than what you will find with Expedia.
They have attention to details and anticipate your needs in advance. One example is that I messed up getting the shades down. They fixed the shades before I returned to my room or even asked!!! They made sure that the meals were unique and tasty and honored our gluten requests.
They smile from the heart. All employees have great respect for each other which shows in their hospitality and guest experience. Their property is exquisitely maintained. The rooms are spacious.
Staying at Pamarah Lodge was a highlight of our trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. They informed us of opportunities always focusing on our safety and experiences. We would not have known about the vulture feeding that they do conservation education at another lodge if they had not recommended.
I cannot recommend the Pamarah Lodge highly enough! I wished it wasn’t...
