I had my 30th on Brisvegas Cruises and it was the THE BEST! If you are looking for a boat party along the Brisbane River, this is not only the best boat and service, it’s also the best value. It’s been 2 months and I am still getting messages from everyone about how epic my party was!
Snapshot: I had 48 guests, the cruise ran from 2.30pm – 6pm, departing and arriving back to Eagle Street Pier. It ran during the afternoon, sunset and docking as night hit which was perfect. We had an open bar and a pre-prepared Spotify playlist. We brought a couple of simple decorations (balloons, table centre pieces and some streamers to hang), and we ordered hot food platters from the Brisvegas team and brought some cool platers and cake.
The boat is beautiful and well designed – most people spent most of their time on the upper deck, which gives a great view of the Brisbane river, and thanks to the high ceiling and clear drapes it eels very open (although the roof did stay on, you didn’t notice). It was a bit windy but not cold, and standing up on the top deck, cruising along the river, with fresh air and sun, it was just stunning. Everyone fit well without it feeling crowded or empty in other areas. People also hung out downstairs next to the bar, out the front of the boat or on the back deck in the sun. The boat can carry 100+, so I was worried it would feel empty, and it didn’t at all.
His crew were really well-liked by my guests (like, really liked them!). They were all very friendly and chatty, yet professional and accommodating. There was always someone working at the bar and food was always on the table or being brought around. The hot food was plentiful and delicious, and all got eaten. I only ordered 4 platters but it felt like unlimited hot food arrived. They also offered lots of suggestions for things like drink mixes, timing of food / cake/ speeches, and there idea to bring around platters of shots towards the end of the night. I can’t remember whether that was the crew’s idea or mine, but the shots were a bit hit, and the crew were awesome at getting everyone excited. Everything was taken care of in terms of catering, keeping everyone fed and well drank. No one ever asked me for more of anything.
The most important thing is that Barry, who was running the ship, just wants you to have a good time, your way. While we were planning, he gave me plenty of options and advice on what works well / doesn’t work well, like for food, drinks, music, where to dock, timing of the cruise, attendee numbers, drink vouchers vs open bar – I never felt once like he was pushing his own sale or agenda, only that he was giving me genuine and honest advice to make my party a success. Barry also helped with setting up the music, the tables, and the decorations by putting out some cool palm trees and standing tables to get the island cruising vibe going, which also helped with my worries about it looking empty.
There are only a couple of party cruise style options in Brisbane. I think this is the best value, quality and fun by far. I had an epic party with almost 50 people, an open bar and plenty of food, and the total cost the same as it did just to hire most of the other boats. I am so glad I chose Brisvegas cruises. It was the best party....
Read moreVery disappointed indeed. Having organized a group of ladies to have a nice day out we drove for nearly 2 hours ( heavy traffic to get to Brisbane for the cruise. The band was great and the people serving drinks were effluent. When we were presented with food I was gobsmacked I’ve lived in Australian 14 years and the food quality has always been some thing I praised. This The most disappointing lunch I have ever been offered fried unhealthy packet processed food . I wouldn’t even serve this greasy fried food to my kids.
No paper plates only napkins and the food was cold no alternatives what you see here is what was offered in our ticket for cruise and lunch. If your a vegetarian or vegan forget it. I refused to eat it and had to stop off on way back to 1.5 drive back to SunshineCoast . I tried giving feedback to the staff no one took responsibility every one blamed the next saying we hire the boat other staff do the food. It takes nothing to serve a few healthy Sandwich’s or wrap. My group spent over $400 all discounted eat before you come we did the 12.30 lunch cruise as ticket says lunch included. I wounder if this would even pass health and...
Read moreCruise for NYE 2022 on the James Cavill. Positives were that the cruise up the Brisbane river was lovely, great view of the city lights and stunning houses. The crew onboard were all fabulous, very helpful. Negatives were that there was not enough room or seating for the number on board- it seemed to have been oversold so was cramped and uncomfortable. Not helped by a large group who took over the downstairs indoors area and wouldn’t let others sit in there. The worst negative though was that we paid for the cruise plus finger food but the food was abysmal. Very, very little and just bog standard frozen supermarket stuff, I actually saw a crew member carrying the frozen bags. I managed to get three potato wedges and a tiny slider and that was all. The crew said they were confused as to how much they needed to serve, but surely they knew the booking numbers prior to sailing. Very disappointing and lots of hungry people, especially as the cruise was 6-9.30pm. We ended up at McDonalds afterwards, there was not even the option to purchase...
