Sensational! Just a superb cruise, although I don't think I'd call it a cruise. It is more a great boat ride out to see some of the most beautiful un-touched parts of Australia's coastline (Bruny Island).

The boat itself, very safe and comfortable. I'm a big fella (heavy) but was comfortable. Plenty of opportunities to stand and stretch anyway. We sat in the front two seats of the boat and had a ball. They say it is rougher at the front, and while it may have been like a roller coaster at times it was most enjoyable. We had pretty good weather for most of the journey however it is a must that you have a beanie, coat and scarf.

They provide coats and I suggest you partake. The blue coat fit me fine while the red coats are rather challenging for people to get in and out of, but they keep you warm and dry. So do it.

The journey itself simply fantastic with breathless scenery. A must do 'Bucket List' item.

The staff and facilities brilliant from start to finish, and the experience worth every dollar.

For those with concerns; there is a toilet onboard but only if needed. Suggest that you don't drink too much before departure. And everyone is offered a natural ginger tablet to assist with motion sickness, and while we felt we'd be ok we took the tabs anyway and had no issues at all, remembering that we sat at the front.

We drove down (Hire Car) from Hobart (easy scenic drive) and took the Ferry over with car ($50 return inc all passengers). Check Hire Car T&C's to ensure you can. Roads to Adventure Bay are all sealed. We had a 4WD and was able to drive on dirt roads such as out to the Lighthouse. Although we did see many other 2WD hire cars driving out there too.

Overall the HIGHLIGHT of our trip to Hobart & surrounds for the week. Can not recommend highly enough. It is a MUST DO!

Thanks and Congrats to Mr. P the owner & operator of the Cruise Company. Met him in Hobart at booking centre, a genuinely nice guy, exactly as he is on his videos, and just brilliant for making these magical areas of Australia assessable to you and me.

DON'T THINK TWICE!!!

I did get somewhat carried away with taking photo's and these are just a fraction of what I took along with some awesome video but nothing can beat...

If you're looking for the best Bruny Island cruise/tour to join, look no further than booking one with these legends at Pennicott Wilderness Journeys!

The day before our cruise, we got a call from them advising us that we'll be expecting (extreme?) Westerly winds that could potentially affect our cruise itinerary. The lady was very reassuring in that we'll still have a good time, but may potentially not be able to visit the seal colonies further south due to the weather conditions. We really appreciated this gesture, as it showed they really cared about the entire experience.

I had a broken collarbone that was still healing, and my partner and I were concerned the choppy sea conditions might affect my overall enjoyment of the cruise. However, the staff at the reception and crew on our boat were attentive and frequently checked on me during the cruise - we were also offered a refund on our tickets, should we have decided against participating.

Mick, our captain was an incredible guide with a dash of good old Aussie humour. Our other guide (ugh, sorry i forget his name now) was equally helpful and knowledgeable. We couldn't have asked for better people to take us around the high seas of Bruny! They truly made this cruise an unforgettable experience.

Some tips for those going on this cruise, be sure to wear warm clothes - beanies and gloves made a world of difference, too! If you're prone to seasickness, the experienced crew know all the tips and tricks to help with that, but don't be afraid to tell them in advance if you're feeling yuck. The ginger tabs will also help, whether you believe it or not! And my biggest tip of all is to really immerse yourself in being away from civilisation, and admire the natural beauty of Bruny's many cliffs, caves and the Breathing Rock, or simply enjoy being surrounded by the vast ocean!

Ahh.. last point! The store also had so many cool things I wish i'd bought, so don't miss a chance to check it out before your cruise (and grab yourself some merch!) or after for some...

Bruny Island Cruises turns a day on the water into a front-row seat for some of Tasmania’s wildest scenery. Check-in at Adventure Bay is quick, and the crew hand out bright spray jackets, ginger tablets for queasy stomachs, and a few tips on where to sit if you want the driest ride. Boarding the purpose-built yellow boat feels like stepping into a mix of safari jeep and roller-coaster.

Once under way, the captain hugs sandstone and dolerite cliffs that tower hundreds of metres above the swells. We slid past sea stacks thin as needles, ducked into echoing sea caves, and bounced through the “Breathing Rock” blowhole as white spray exploded beside us. Every turn of the coast seemed to bring a new surprise and the skipper’s running commentary blended geology, history, and local lore without ever sounding rehearsed.

Wildlife shows up on its own schedule, yet the crew clearly know the signs. We lingered beside a rowdy fur seal colony, then throttled down to idle when a pod of common dolphins appeared, surfing the bow wave while cameras clicked. Albatross glided overhead, and at one point a shy little penguin popped up like a bobbing cork. The crew made sure everyone could see, steering first one side of the boat then the other so no one felt short-changed.

Back on shore, hot pumpkin soup and a just-baked blueberry muffin were waiting at the company café, perfect for warming up after three invigorating hours in the wind. The tour isn’t cheap, but it covers gear, expert guides, national park fees, and a conservation levy that supports local research, so the value is clear. From seamless logistics to knowledgeable staff and jaw-dropping coastline, Bruny Island Cruises delivers an experience that feels both thrilling and respectfully eco-minded. Five...

When you come to Tasmania, you must join this tour—it’s really exciting! The only regret is that we didn’t see any whales. It’s very cold out at sea, so make sure to wear warm clothes or bring a heat pack.
