THE BEST EAST COAST CAMPSITE
Read moreI spoke with a lady who I cannot remember her name (Ally maybe) and made my booking on 23.12.2020 at Whitsunday Eco Resort for powered tent area over the phone. I explain my situation as we are going to come from Bundaberg that day and road will be take around 8-9 hours and we are expecting come late night if that's possible. She said that is not a problem if you are coming after 9.30 pm what we can do is leaving a note and once you come (to the staff or to us I am not sure) you can find your space on your own. I agreed and finalise the payment with no worries.
Next day I called again to extend my stay for one more day but this time I spoke with a lady named Lee or Li (I am not sure how its spell) and told my extend wish. She looked into system for the possibility with a hurry and made the extend. After we agreed and payment completed I tried to remind her my arrive time and note solution which has been suggested me from one day before. She directly said ' No you cannot enter the premises after 9.30 because we have quite area policy' or something. I said but before I made this booking I agreed with the another person who I spoke with previous day. She said 'Hang on' and put me on wait without even picking any polite words for it. Once she came back she said no we cannot accept you because of the policy. And I said but we weren't agree this way last time. She directly said " Sir, you cannot come and set-up a tent during midnight. I am going to cancel your booking if you want to'' in a very rude and annoying way. I said ok then and she hang up phone to my face in a second and I really shocked. I called her again to ask when my refund will be issued? She gave the answer as in a week or so and hang up to my face second time!!
I really feel terrible about this as a tourist and a human being. I was not trying to do something against the rules or your policy I was just trying to understand why I was able to made this booking one day before and paid for it and next day faced with the policy.
Terrible...

As an ex-resident of 5 months this review is based on a long-term stay in the park:
In the wake of Cyclone Debbie my partner and I were disgustingly evicted from the park. This was following a request to provide power by the on-site generator to our powered site and the simple necessity of a hot shower after being without power and water for 5 days. As I was interstate for work my partner was cornered by the owners, verbally abused and literally spat on. Needless to say I was in awe. To think we were paying residents, financially supporting the park, this is socially and professionally unacceptable. In a ironic twist, the police were called to assist the eviction to which they requested not to be bothered again by such a trivial matter in a time of natural disaster. To further prolong the matter my partners private details were publicly displayed on social media (which have now been deleted) in attempt to make finding new accomodation more difficult for us. Unsurprisingly I am appalled by this behaviour from these business owners we had previously trusted and happily abided by a request to improve our site by providing countless hours of unpaid labour to spread numerous tonnes of ground base with no help.
Aside from our personal experience, there have been numerous requests from all residents to provide improved water quality with test data as you can literally see and taste the sediment.
Also note the park is located 10 minutes out of Airlie Beach next to an airport that operates 7 days.
I strongly encourage anyone thinking of staying here to go elsewhere as I would hate for anyone else to have to go through a similar experience.
Feel free to contact me should you require any further information regarding the matter as the owners haven't yet...
