Keppel Dive & Water Sports — Local services in Great Keppel Island

Very friendly staff and easy to reach location from ferry. On the day we did the snorkelling trip there was a miscommunication with the ferry company about an abnormally early departure due to low tide.

Our group arrived early and were kitted up and ready to leave at the set time, but a beginner group were not advised to be ready and arrived later and took time to get ready as they were not conscious of the time. It did feel a little stressful as we only made it back with 10 mins to spare before the ferry left.

The company is safety focussed and put another guide on to manage the beginners and even though we thought we’d go further afield, they explained that the location of the tour was conditions dependent. They will adjust website to make that clearer.

I got in touch after the tour and the company took our concerns seriously and made efforts to address them.

Keppel Dive are running a fantastic dive service for the Capricorn coast. They are easily contactable, ( I even called on Christmas Day). They fit two of us on a dive last minute. The ferry was booked out so they picked us up from the marina on the dive boat. The dive boat is comfortable and we had 8 people on the dive which was a good number. The equipment is all in great condition and I had a brand new wetsuit Our dive guide was very knowledgeable and I felt relaxed and safe, and wasn’t rushed at any point which I appreciated. We went to Barren island, the fish life and coral was incredible. We saw a barracuda , blue Māori wrasse , lion fish, anemone fish, painted rock lobster and nudibranch just to name a few.
