Please be careful on the circuit track because the new road base is extremely dangerous for people in wheel chairs or walking aids. What happened. My wife and I took a person in a wheelchair along the circuit track. The write up says gentle walk, some inclines. We started going down a slight hill which was fine until the new road base became the issue. We started to lose traction with the chair and it started to drag us down in sections as well, including the person assisting. We found the front wheels were getting caught up on the rocks making the chair very difficult to maneuver safely. It was until we realised that we were about halfway down that it was too late to turn back. The wheelchair was unable to turn around safely on that decline. The person who we were pushing, came out of the wheelchair and we were also trying to keep it vertical at times on those rocks. The elderly person was in shock and so were we. Not hurt though. At the bottom, we had to regather ourselves knowing that we could get stuck on the actual hill because of the road base and slip factor. This is not safe for wheelchairs in this state and the write up needs to indicate this. I understand that the recent rains has made things difficult but surely someone tested it before the all clear. * The wheelchair is compliant to go on gravel and gentle slopes. The whole area is extremely positive, so please don't let my write up take away from the positives and the hard work people do to make this place special.

All trails are now open, trails are variable in width, with the ridge tracks being single file in sections, same with a section of the northern base circuit and a portion of the revegetation trail, the base circuit track is car width. Track repair works are completed with resurfacing material installed to address deep ruts and washouts sections, which have historically been impacted by heavy rainfall. This is a significant improvement on historical track and step surfaces. Surface conditions are variable, designed and maintained to hiking and trail running standard. The reserve is still recovering from the 2015 Bushfire but beautiful granite woodland wildflower displays can be see in Spring and great views from the lookouts!

Excellent shorter walking tracks, with lots of large granite rock formations. Plenty of wildlife ..kangaroos, birds, etc. Great views from 2 vantage points. Track signage is a bit cryptic, so I suggest using the "all-trails app" for navigation.
