Lovely small caravan park. Amenities were clean and spacious. Hot water pressure good. Down side they didn't have hand held shower nozzle. Washing the kids hair meant I got as wet as she did. Hand heads make it easier. Camp kitchen well stocked with microwave stove oven toasty maker etc.. coffee machine $2.00 a cup. Lovely fire pit unfortunately it was fire ban season so wasn't lit. Playgrounds X 2 had the kid kept busy for hours. Pool looked amazing and many people used it. We didn't as we forgot to bring swimwear. Lovely grounds mix of manicured lawn and native bush. Loved the herb plot and the Rosemary bush. I love that they are pet friendly and have multiple doggy poo bag dispensers. Came in handy on the midnight pee and poop where I forgot our poo bag. The coin operated dog wash was also fabulous. Dog didn't think so but once he was dry he was very happy to be clean. Instructions could be better. I couldn't work out if it was necessary to rinse off the flea and tick solution or not. I did because I'm concious that our dog has sensitive skin. Only downside to our trip and stay here was the park guests who used the area between our awning and the cabin next door as a shortcut to the amenities and the dog would bark at random people. I got told off for asking people to not walk thru oursite as it was not a public walkway. The dog was getting cranky at us telling him off for barking or rushing up towards them and meant we had to shorten his tether so he couldn't go beyone the awning, which meant he couldnt just walk off the mat to pee. We ended up parking our vehicle at an angle to obstruct people walking through. Didn't stop 2 kids from entering our awning to get round the car. People need to be very aware of where is a walkway and where is a paid for site. I really wanted to avoid him rushing and someone falling over as they suddenly get barked at and they jump to the side. What if the jumped and fell onto the ropes for the awning and got hurt. Dog sounds very big and vicious bit I doubt he would bite unless provoked but I never wanted that to occur. We did discuss on Se eral times...

We stayed for 2 nights in a 6 person luxury glamping tent (G2) which was just amazing. Queen bed and 2 x 2 bunk beds with all linen provided (byo pool towels). This space was so clean, inviting and relaxing. It was well appointed with all the kod cons. Split system helped with the cool mornings. Our family of 4 including 2 boys (7&5) loved our stay and would definitely rebook again.
The Marong Family Hotel was great for a meal (walking distance) and a short drive to Bridgewater Bakery for amazing cakes and slices. There is a small iga at Maiden Gully for supplies - otherwise go into Bendigo for Woolies/Coles before arriving as once you get to the park, you won't want to...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay at BIG4 Marong Holiday Park. The Safari Tent was much cleaner and more comfortable than we expected. After a long day, it was nice to relax in the heated spa. At first we found the water a bit cold and were not quite sure how to adjust the temperature quickly. Just when it finally started to feel warm enough, the next group of guests arrived for their booking, which was a little awkward but also quite funny. The park is very family-friendly. The kids had a great time playing on the jumping pillow, flying fox, pump track, and also enjoyed basketball, soccer, and pedal go-karts. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When our EV charging cable did not fit, they kindly provided us with a compatible one. The location is about a 15-minute drive from Bendigo town centre. Compared to the other two BIG4 parks in Bendigo, this one is a bit further out. However, since we have already visited Bendigo several times, we mainly chose this trip to explore the campsite itself, so the distance was not a big issue for us. If I had to mention one small downside, the Wi-Fi was a bit slow and watching YouTube on the TV was a little laggy. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we would...
