DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. Multiple times we have ordered deliver from this Coles. Wait for the delivery window then see our order cancelled at the last minute. Never been able to get a reason for the cancellations. It is always incredibly frustration and no one has ever been able to explain what's happening.
This happened again to us this week on Thursday. Order cancelled last minute whilst we're waiting for it to be delivered. So we immediately re-ordered. When the re-order showed up, over half the order was missing. Claims that the items we're out of stock and no available substitutes. Basic items like milk, bread, butter, soft drink etc.. we're out of stock with no substitutes... either this store has some very serious supply chain problems (worse than covid times) or it is just a lie.
So, we ordered AGAIN for the items that we're out of stock and they magically we're available and delivered the following day.
BUT!
The original order that was cancelled had already frozen $160 from our account.... We then had $100 frozen for order 2 and $68 taken out for order 3.
It is now Saturday (2 business days later) and the original $160 from the cancelled order is still frozen resulting in us have no available funds for the weekend.
Have spoken to Coles support who have recognized the frustration and offered a $15 credit on my next coles order. Am racking my brain trying to see how that resolves this issue.
So, yeah ... Don't order delivery from this Coles. It's a mess and you may be outta pocket for days on end due to their incompetence
UPDATE: Coles Support blamed my bank for this issue saying the payment on the original order was declined resulting in the order cancellation. This doesn't make sense as the subsequent payments worked fine and now that our account has paid twice for this order there is clearly enough money in the account. I contacted the bank who confirmed that no payment attempt was made and there are no declined payments...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall lots of great sections and produce.
Staff are great in the deli, the sushi sushi station and helpful to find where products are.
They need MORE registers with full service. I often spend $300 plus each trip and DO NOT wish to put my items through myself. Even today I had found one at long last and the young guy was extremely ambivalent about packing my groceries as he rang them up and made me do it. So rude and stupid really. Made me feel like a lazy fool. Who is managing check out staff?
The Saturday morning manager in a nice hijab actually helped me get free glassware and pointed out that Iād built up quite a few redeem points! Nice one āļø thanks!
Very pricey and gimmicky at times. To get good prices in vitamins have you buy two items.
Always tricky, watch the pricing. I bought 21litre coles cat litter I thought for $17.00 it had about 30 bags stacked with one price tag. It was a lie and was $21.00. Often overcharge and have to watch every docket. And $11.50 on special Quilton was charged $13.50 full price so thereās a lot of rigamarole with getting price checks because they do not update their pricing.
However, even though it was busy itās a great feeling around everyone and it made me spend way too much!
You can get some good deals, just stay calm and go at your own because everyone is pushy and rushing.
The village centre - Itās easy access in and out from Williamstown Rd entry with lights. Pharmacy is good, Bakers Delight for chocky croissant and Dr Miow has a clinic on Willy Rd too nearby and will ring prescriptions through to chemist there so itās busy city area but can make it work which is great being new here.:)
Often take Francis Rd to Ballarat rd to Anderson health food shop and any cafe or boutique shopping then head on to Coles - itās a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHOPELESS....Again. Ive been using Coles Yarraville for about 3-4 years. Close and convenient. Today (for the third time in last 6 months) I'd spent almost an hour filling an entire trolly. Then as I walked towards the only checkout operating the operator put a sign saying in essence closed on the belt. No other checkouts. I asked the lady standing around monitoring self checkout and she said "we are short staffed - have to checkout yourself". I wont do that unless I get a discount - why should I do their job and not be rewarded somehow. So I left the trolly and went to a Woolworths - about an extra 5 min from home in opposite direction. WOW - what a refreshing difference. Better lighting, better store layout, better stocked shelves and at the checkout the young lad was friendly and efficient. Unlike the staff at Coles Yarraville that are always frowning and clearly hate their jobs. Coles will never see another cent from me. You MUST try Woolworths, forget Coles. Even going to now try Aldi for some stuff. My kids laughed saying they both swapped from Coles...
