Veggies and Meat Quality is absolutely good and fresh, But Customer service at billing counter is rude and dishonest. this is very first time I went to Pauls Poultry and butcher recommended by friends. I was shopping happily with my 2-year old toddler and I bought veggies, fruits and meat everything was going good until I reach to the billing counter. The lady on counter gave me very unfriendly look and ask me the banana my son was eating from the shop I said yes, then she ask me in grumpy way bring me one banana from the shelf so she can weigh he banana and charge me, I said you can take out one from my shopping bag and charge but she made me to go back and charge me 31 cents extra because my son was eating the banana. No worries you got to pay for everything you buy. Second thing which was completely unexpected and not to be tolerated that lady weigh both celery and beef eye fillet together on weigh scale and charge me the total weight with beef unit price instead of charging both celery and beef eye fillet separately. When I ask her why she is charging me celery at beef eye fillet price, she said just said it’s just a celery and refuse to reverse the charges. Basically my 4-dollar celery bunch was charged with beef eye fillet unit price huh. I am not going back in to this place where they just try to rip off their customer and not even willing to accept the mistake. My advice to regular customer would be watch out everything they charge for; I think they have habit charging low unit price heavy items with high unit price item so end...
Read morePrior to my last visit, this rating would have been higher, but my last visit, the quality of meat purchased was disgusting. I had 25 guests coming over for a BBQ on the Saturday and bought 2kg of BBQ chops for $24, $40 of scotch fillet (as well as a further $50+ on other items) late on the Thursday afternoon. The scotch was OK, the chicken ribs and sausages were fine, however the chops after 2 days in the fridge were OFF. Not just a little bit, but sticky to touch and a pale shade of yellow/green when I pulled them apart. So 30 minutes before our guests arrived, I opened the bag to put them on a tray took one look and was appalled by what I saw, thus having to do the mad dash up to Woolworths to buy another $25 of chops. I don’t live far from Paul’s Poultry, had them in a blue cooler bag until I got home and then put them straight into the fridge. I am not a person who likes to complain and I try to always leave positive feedback or contact the business directly. However I have emailed the head office of B & E Foods, re this incident and have been completely ignored. All I wanted was some acknowledgement, that Paul’s Poultry (now known as B & E Foods), had been notified and any issues re their refrigeration or food handing had been addressed, I DID NOT ask for a refund. Sorry guys, I have been a loyal shopper for many years,...
Read moreMy wifes dog only likes chicken necks which I have been buying there for years. The Chicken Kievs are the best around. I have been searching for an alternative to Woolworths and Coles which stocks what I need and want not what they need me to buy (they are constantly reducing Aussie products). I am also intent on buying Aussie owned. I also would buy extra Procal milk because it’s Aussie owned and put some in the freezer just to support local dairy rather than Canadian or New Zealand interest. Sadly, I can no longer get chicken necks and the Kiev’s are smaller and it’s not worth a six kilometre journey anymore. I now buy our chicken necks at the Hartnett Drive, Seaford market where I can also get local product at a reasonable price. Once again the bean counters have dictated...
