We booked 3 camp sites at this park for 3 nights, we were a big family group and wanted a relaxing camp area. This camp area is quite basic but is cheap as well so makes sense. The camp sites are quite generous. The amenities are old but clean, however one dowside for us was the camp kitchen only had bbq but no stove, alomst all the big4 sites we have visited have a basic stove top and a toaster and kettle. The park has a river next to it however if you arent camping river front there is very little access to the river.
There is no park for children within the park but it opens a small back door to a public park which is quite massive and has a great play area.
Having given the basics my reason for rating this park so low is the service. This park is owned by a couple and there are great reviews but I can see one more review with a very similar problem to what we faced. We were a big family group with kids, we werent drinking, partying or playing music but just having fun within ourselves and trying our best not to bother any other people.
We did experince some cold vibes from one of the park owner and disregarded that as our perception. On the second day of the camp we decided to head to the river with out inflatables for some family time. This was discussed during our booking aand no further instructions were provided on it. We took one of our cars with all our material and parked at an empty space in order to avoid disturbing anyone else.
We soon had one of the owners come in and check on us and were informed that he was happy for us to hangout there and just asked us to pull our car out through an opening away from the camps when we were done with our time at the river.
He came twice to check on us and ensured we were ok where we were. Soon we had some campers come set up there camp on the site next to where we were parked.
To this the other owner of the park came down to us and gave us a rude comment about needing to move our car and the fact that we werent allowed there and we hadnt asked. We were shocked and could barely reply before she stomped right out. We still went ahead and moved our car and their counter part came to check on us. I informed him that we werent ok with the way we were spoken to and that we had checked with him so clearly there was some missing information. During this conversation the lady comes back in and startes yelling saying if i was rude she would get us out of the park. "Talk to me like that and you are out" her precise words. The explaination later given to us by the counter part was he apologizes and that his partner was having a bad day. I completely do not agree to this and how this came across. There was no apology from the lady or confortation about her behaviour. I would say Thomas was kind and wanted to damage control but sadly the damage was already done.
They ruined our holiday completely and we are very disappointed. There are better ways of putting a message accross and problem solving when you are in hospitality.
