Espresso Works — Local services in O'connor

Had my ECM Synchronika serviced by Espresso Works recently and figured the service was worth writing a review of my excellent experience.

I bought my machine second hand and immediately encountered a leak from my flow control valve. Another 5-star rated company charged me an absolute fortune and didn't resolve the issue until the second visit. I had to show them how to fix the leak, and that it was two perished o-rings that caused it. The fix only requires 10 minutes of work and a few dollars in parts. They also returned my machine with a dent and several scratches.

The reason I include this anecdote is because it doesn't seem uncommon for companies to offer servicing and repairs for premium machines and not actually know what they're doing or take any care in the quality of their work. Espresso Works is a welcome exception to this.

Meaghan organised for Dom to both collect and return my machine; both times were prompt and on time. When it was returned, all surfaces had been wiped down and looked almost new again. All my valves, levers and taps are smoother and quieter than I'd have expected them to be on a several year old machine! They listened to what my concerns were about the machine before pickup and these were reflected in the service report on my invoice where each issue was looked into.

I recently visited Espresso Works with the intention of purchasing a coffee machine. I had hoped to receive some good recommendations and guidance, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While I appreciated the variety of machines available, the customer service left much to be desired. I was looking for detailed information about the different models, their features, and any potential discounts. However, the staff member I spoke to seemed uninterested in providing any insightful assistance. Instead of helping me find the perfect coffee machine that fits my needs, he suggested that I look for a cheaper option at Retravision, which felt dismissive. I expected more support while considering such an important purchase. I took my La Cimbali to Espresso Works for an emergency repair and service the week before Xmas. They generously squeezed me in but unfortunately my old faithful had made it's last espresso. 😢The repair was going to be so costly it was not worth the money for a 20 year old machine, so I went in to the showroom to pick a replacement. The team were outstanding in understanding what I was after and recommending a couple of options.
