False advertising and taking bookings at at $49 for 18holes with a cart. Don't give any notification or update that they're charging more until you show up and they charge you $70!
When you question this at the pro-shop they just chuckle and say they know about it being wrong on the website but they aren't changing it and they just use "it's a public holiday" as an excuse. Even now they still have it advertised as $49 for this coming Monday but be warned that wont be the actual price. It's not as if they are unable to update this price information as almost all other course have for the public holidays, it's clear the Links Kennedy Bay just choose not to and prefer to lie to their customers about how much a round will cost. I have taken screenshots and made notes regarding all of the above and will be reporting further for misleading advertising.
As for the course, it's nothing special but is missing a lot of basics other courses have such as water taps and 100m/150m markers (really any markers at all other than a few on some tee boxes). You wont be able to resort to distances or track scores on your Garmin device or The Grint app as neither of these has been updated to reflect the current course layout, distances or pars. The fairways and greens are pretty well maintained but that's about where the positives end. I'll admit my opinion on the course could be more negative than usual but being lied to from the course before you even tee off leaves a very sour taste in your mouth. At this point I see it as if you're wanting a midday tee off and you're in the area you're better off going to play a proper 18 hole course at Secret Harbour Golf Links less than 10minutes away...
Read moreThe course is probably going to be quite good when it’s finished I’m sure but I have a few issues with the current states of how it’s running
The condition of the greens, they’re terrible and clearly being neglected in areas. The photos I have attached anr all of greens (except the bunker) several of which were in close proximity to the hole and I regularly had to put over this. I know they have stated that these are probably some of the greens they plan to remove or re do but if you’re not looking after you greens to the highest standard then your green fees should reflect this and there should be a warning about it somewhere. These have clearly been like this a long time.
Some of the bunkers are almost totally overgrown with weeds? See photo example
The driving range is closed but still advertised online. No mention of this when calling through for a booking. We rolled up 45 minutes early for a bit of a warmup hit only to find the driving range is no longer there. I’m fine with that but would have been good to be notified.
There is no or minimal signage indicating what hole you’re on, distances from the tee, fairway distance markers. Several paths are sand or gravel.
If the course isn’t worth keeping in top shape because it’s changing then it really shouldn’t be played or playing the course should be quite cheap. It is mostly good for a practice round at this state but with a cart or scooter you’re still stung around $55 for 9 while the course is a...
Read moreAfter looking at the website and seeing the lush green fairways and greens, it seemed like a no brainer to visit this course, sadly we were extremely disappointed with what we arrived to in reality. Dry, hard fairways, overgrown grass in the bunkers, tee boxes that were in poor condition, greens were average at best, patchy with kangaroo damage and repair sand spots. The paths for the carts were mostly broken some with paving loose and unstable. All in all it was a big disappointment for the $$$ that we paid. i suggest you give it a miss until the management puts some extra serious effort into the course maintenance. It wasn`t a hot day when we played 23C, if fact it was quite cold and the weather had been cool previously leading into the day we visited. Management needs to update the website to show the true course. Definitely a 1/10 ATM. We deserve a refund because it wasn't a...
