Spring Bluff Railway Station is a beautiful historic spot with so much character and charm. The gardens are very well looked after, especially when the flowers are blossoming – visiting in summer or towards the end of autumn is the best time to see them at their most colourful. It really makes the station feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
It’s also a great place to take photos, wander through the grounds, and learn a little local history. There are picnic areas available which make it a nice stop for families, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Parking is usually straightforward, though it can get a little busier during events or flower season.

Read morePicturesque location of well kept historical train station and grounds. Main carpark and platform level is suitable for wheelchair / limited mobility with wheelchair friendly toilets. Levels of park and playground extend up the hill including picnic, bbq facilities playground and more toilets. A short 20 minute nature walk which we didn't have time to explore at the top of the park. Giant game of checkers on site and small basketball half court. No cafe in operation which may have kept crown numbers down. There is a lower carpark for busier days. No trains running or passing when we visited (Saturday midday), however I've been told it is magnificent when they do. We accessed via Murphy's Creek and then gained the top of the range near Higfields. Great...
Read moreThe Spring Bluff Train Station is an absolute surprise on the side of the range near Toowoomba. The beautiful grounds are very well kept. There is adequate parking but I’m sure it could get busy on weekends and if the café were open. Unfortunately at the time of our visit the café was closed and seemed to be not in use from the outside. If you’re lucky enough you may even see a train passing through as these tracks are still active; please take care. The grounds offer many areas for families to picnic and play, including a playground and basketball half court. There are clean public amenities. The station is packed with historic information and relics. Definitely...
