The caretakers and staff were the friendliest and most helpful we have come across at a holiday park. The park was clean and well manicured, we could tell the caretakers really pride themselves in their work. However there were so many bats when we stayed and they pooped all over our car, caravan and annex :( also the green matting pad next to the site (no concrete pads, only green mat pads) had ''baked on'' bat poop when we arrived, i tried to clean it but it wouldnt come off, and then fresh stuff appeared each day which inevitably my kids and husband ended up stepping in/ touching which concerned me due to the diseases bats can carry. I realise bats are protected and its out of the holiday parks control but it really put a dampner on our stay as we had to spend extra time when we got back cleaning it all off (we didnt realise bat poop is even harder to get off if its left for a day or two). It would be great if some more attention could be put towards cleaning the bat poo off the green pads at least for check in, and maybe a maintenance clean daily on sites if needed would be helpful since the bats are a problem. We also found there was quite a lot of traffic noise from the main road that we weren't aware of when we booked, and the sites were quite small. We live in suburbia so when we go camping we like to have some breathing space but the small sites and traffic noise meant we felt like we were still crammed in like at home. Anyway, we did appreciate the clean amenities and friendly staff and walking distance to the river side. The pool was a good depth for kids, my 5yr and 8yr could touch the bottom in about 1/3 of the pool...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed in one of the two Coolibah cabins during the middle of summer school holidays. |The park was busy, but this did not impact on our stay as the cabins were out of the way of the rest of the park. Yes they are directly adjacent to the motorway, but being inside the cabin, the traffic did not impact us one bit, didnāt hear a peep of traffic! |Its central location on the sunny coast made it relatively easy to access the motorways and other attractions on the coast, so was super convenient. The breeze from the river was a nice cool touch to the stay also. |The coolibah cabins are tidy, packed with all cooking necessities, very comfortable for a small family or couple, queen bed and a bunk bed. |The walk to the Flume on the River cafe was quick and short to get our daily coffee hit, and we were lucky enough to beat any morning rush too which was a bonus. There is a small iga grocery store on the other side of the motorway, itās convenient but prices for foods are on the $$$ side. |Our only disappointment was that park wifi did not reach the cabins being at the back end of the park, accessible at the front of the park near reception or assembly/smoking area however. |Overall, this was a great family park to stay at, highly recommend and weāll consider staying again at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had the best family holiday at BIG4 Maroochy River. The park has a great community atmosphere and is perfect for holidaying with kids. We stayed in brand new cabins that are beautifully styled, comfortable and equipped with everything you could need, including stove, oven, microwave, fridge, bar fridge and BBQ. The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with all utensils and containers, etc, that you could need. The cabins overlook an activity area with a jumping cushion so you could watch your kids play from the deck while relaxing or making meals. The park itself is beautiful and maintained to a very high standard. It is also well spaced and not too crowded. Blake and the management team went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after and were only too happy to help with anything we needed and give us tips on what to do in the local area. The events organised daily at the park were also excellent for adults and children alike. Personal favourites were the thai food truck that visited, the live musicians and the author that came to read to and entertain the kids. The park is located close to the water and walking distance to several great fishing spots. Also a short drive to Buderim Forest Park waterfalls. Would...
