Oh man. I so wanted to rate this place higher but I just canāt. About a year ago I ordered from here online for take away and I got this amazing fritter thing with egg and hollandaise sauce that absolutely blew me away. So my husband and I thought if they could do something that amazing for take away, we could only imagine the sheer joy that would await us when fresh cooked food arrives at our table when we eat in. So it really sucked when that same fritter was a soggy bunch of sadness when it arrived at the table. Nonetheless we gave Flume another few tries. A takeaway breaky wrap here and there, nothing to write home about. So yesterday it was a miserable rainy morning so no work for husband and we decided to give eating breakfast in at Flume another try. Ugh. We were the only ones there at 9:40am and it sucked that the 2 staff members on decided to turn their terrible emo music up so loud it became unbearable to stay there. Thankfully we got a text which rescued us too but that along with someone elseās gross used napkins still being on the chairs was so off putting that I can say now that we have given Flume a few chances and itās not for us sadly. The music, I mean come on, that was on no level appropriate for a cafe. An elderly woman entered for take away coffee when we were there and shot me a look as though so say āomg this music !ā If could post the video recording I took on here I would. It was stupidly loud. The food we got to take home was okay but the avocado toast was mediocre for the price.
Edit - you sure got the dramatic reaction you were wanting on Facebook by painting me as a horrible customer rather than taking on board what was said here and asking your staff to have some consideration for your customers. There were no managers available to speak to at the time so I will stand by my review. I am happy to email you the video we took of the loud music being played. I wish you success with your business but it will help to take criticism on board when there is something like this turning away...

Waited half an hour and saw multiple people get their meals/orders before us, so we inquired about the status of our order and was told that we were meant to present to the counter with our receipt to start the process of making our order and because they wouldnāt know who the order belonged to.
The need to do so was not written anywhere near the QR code or in the online confirmation at all. In addition, the need to line up and present to the counter defeats the purpose of having a QR code in the first place.
When given our toasties five minutes later, we were told that the girls had known about our order the whole time and that presenting to the counter was not needed? There seems to be some discrepancy between staff.
I do understand that itās a busy cafe and a wait is to be expected, however there were numerous in person orders that occurred after ours, that were being filled before us. In regards to knowing who the order belonged to, the online ordering system comes with a name to call out.
Overall, just a gentle suggestion to provide clearer takeaway instructions for using...

Tables not cleaned up from previous diners for the 45minutes we were there. Our coffee was lukewarm warm at best, a simple breakfast for two seemingly beyond the new crewās capacity. Extra items ordered omitted when Finally presented to our table. We mentioned this to the young lady serving us. After five minutes our concerns hadnāt been addressed so we started our breakfast before it got cold. We finished our breakfast and we were about to leave when the omitted breakfast items arrived some fifteen minutes later. Disappointing compared to what we were accustomed to from Flume. We were asked, maybe from a new owner, what we thought of our breakfast. We voiced our concerns as weāve highlighted here. We got the rundown about new management. Do we give the new Flume another crack? Weāre going back next month. Hopefully today was a hiccup & things get back to the high standard Flume was...
