My wife and I chose this accommodation after searching the internet and because it is near Sydney airport. The website describes the site as follows :- "A tropical Queensland style tourist park offering affordable accommodation with panoramic views of Botany Bay and Sydney" Based upon this description and as the place is called Silver Beach Tourist Park we didn't expect to find a group of ten fairly old cabins and a very small swimming pool situated very close together in the narrow backyard of an old two storey very rundown looking private dwelling in a residential road much of which has been redeveloped with apartments etc. There is absolutely no view whatsoever of Botany Bay or Sydney from anywhere on the entire site. It is simply incorrect and very misleading to call this place a tourist park with views that are non-existent. There is no reception office at all and the owner/manager lives offsite and works somewhere else during the day. The remote control for the very small old TV didn't work and they don't supply any wifi access at all. The bathroom door didn't shut or lock. There was a layer of dust/grease on top of the fridge, extractor fan and aircon unit. This is definitely a place to avoid, but my guess is that it won't be there for very...
Read moreSpent a fantastic 9 1/2 weeks here. Cabin very comfortable. Good shower, air conditioner, ceiling fans. Also full size fridge, microwave and hotplates. Maintained well. Pool lovely and clean. Area so quiet. Mainly permanents but friendly hello whenever we saw each other. Andy and Kylie great chatters and look after the place well. Off street parking with boom gate. Internet and phone a bit patchy at times. Beach across road. Great kids playground 100m up the road. A few cafes around serving delicious Tobys estate coffee. Thoroughly enjoyed my time. I would definitely stay at Silver Beach...
