Nice looking church. Amazing architecture. It's a central part for many Nestorian Assyrians. But I gotta sadly say bluntly that, funerals or memorial services have ruined its image. When I look at this church my heart feels cold and all I think of coffins and wailing women walking out from it (especially this year, since so many Assyrians I knew died and were taken there).
This makes me protest against the general idea of the dead being bought inside churches. I think they should be taken to some community hall where a priest would be hired to pray over the deceased.
I'm saying this in defense of the Assyrian churches. I want happiness and joy to come out form them, not sorrow. As a child, all I remember from this church was weddings and marriage. Too bad that today these "funeral" images associated to the church have ruined its...
