It's a well renowned product but, any deviation from buy&sell (the pure business transaction) is lacking - a reference to other low starred opinions. I've had several emails highlighting a premium product, being sent cattle class (Parcel Post - 2 weeks delivery time!) and not appreciating that the customer experience for a premium product also includes premium delivery - one which the customer can/may actually pay for. Informed I don't know what I'm talking about and the difficulties of doing business in rural areas. I investigated and Tambo has a daily mail run at 1pm though to Toowomba (via Kearneys Spring) by dinner time and then Brisbane (Redbank) that same night by 11pm (apparently, its not technically Express service but, the pub test says it's perfect in every other way). While it is only technically express option available Brisbane (Redbank) to Melb (any suburb!) I'd prefer that my teddy didn't wait at Redbank 4 days (at the time of writing) and again at Melb distribution centre a further 3 days (my assumption) for slow sorting and pay $3 more for Express priority sorting when it arrives at each destination (yes I looked on Aust Post website and called Tambo PO to gain further insight on this situation generally after I was accused of not knowing [I felt it had a 'city slicker' connotation - it hurt). I even suggested Teddies might include Express Post at full cost to the customer (nice that they currently subsidise Parcel Post - the only online option) - now there's a business idea! I might add there is no commercial service (e.g TNT, DHL) I was told - possibly adding to the frustration having received my feedback/criticism. Anyway, I was told Teddies will run their business as they see fit and again that I didn't know everything. (Mmmmm, this is my first ever post as a reviewer, something must have prompted me into sharing my experience - Thank-you on that front.)
I wish Alison...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of our 'Must Do' moments on our recent Outback roadtrip was to stop and purchase a Tambo Teddy for our expected first grandchild. We weren't sure what we would find as travelling through Tambo on a Sunday but stopped as about 8 people stood outside the shop. When I got there, was relieved to see a sign on the door inviting you to call and someone would come to open up. I jotted down the 2 phone numbers on the door and went to the phone booth to call. Imagine my disappointment when both numbers advised the numbers had been disconnected. I was a definite sale in the making as I'm sure one or two of the other travellers may have purchased as well. I highly recommend including updated phone numbers on the 'call us' poster as I was unable to check the website as lacked internet coverage. We had actually passed a few stores further north stocking the Teddies but wanted to buy directly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI remember when I stopped in at Tambo Teddies approx 10 years ago. Me and my good mate Eddie were in our fuel truck heading to Mt Isa. It was soon going to be Eddies daughters birthday. So we went inside and had ourselves a good old gander at their broad range of Teddies. I honestly couldn't believe how individual each Teddy was. After having a loooong look at all the Teddies, I decided on the one that I bought for Eddies daughter. It was absolutely beautiful. I was very impressed by the very high standard of which they were built. The quality of the construction materials was very impressive. Eddies daughter was absolutely overcome with excitement when I gave it to her. It made my day. So when you go to Tambo. Make sure you drop in to Tambo Teddies. If it's good enough for two truck drivers to be in there buying Teddy bears. I'm sure it's good enough for you too....
