1 Star for bar staff 4 star for kitchen staff
We arrived after 10 hours of driving with 3 kids and just needed a decent meal and cold beer. Looked it up online and it said closed at 8pm. We arrived at about 7.40 pm, went in and asked the gentleman ‘is the kitchen still open’, he looked at his watched and said ‘just’. Without another word, walked away to another counter and just stood there. I wasn’t sure what that meant but followed him over to find he was just standing there waiting to take order… okay then. My wife came in after locking the car up, walked up and said, oh phew we made it and he rolled his eyes. He was pretty rude.

It's a great bush pub and one of our favourites on the trip. Don't be deterred by the odd coloured fluorescent lighting, and don't come expecting some sort of Darling Harbour style ritzy steakhouse either. The food was home cooked and simple, but tasted better than excellent. Definitely try the egg salad it was the best I've ever had!
They had a good selection of beer, and the prices were very reasonable. To top it off, the staff were very friendly and and happy to sit down and enjoy a chat with you when the evening was coming to a close. If you're in Tambo, I'd highly recommend an evening...
Read moreDo not stay in the hotel accommodation at the Club Hotel Motel. It is vile! The bathrooms and fittings are filthy and stink of rotten egg gas (that may be from bore water), the rooms are tiny with no facilities, the beds are ancient and are on the verge of collapse, some lights don't work. Unless you want to try it for the experience don't be tempted by the $30 tariff, it's not worth it The motel section may be OK, I didn't try it but have a look first before you move in. Have a look at the hotel rooms for the experience but be carefull and watch where you step, you may fall...
