The Derwent runs from the highlands through Hobart and into Storm Bay. The river has been the dumping ground for a range of industries both historically and up to the present day… heavy metals, arsenic and organic carbon are significant pollutants that remain an issue for Tasmanians… The river remains a great space for recreation with ample space for power boat racing, skiing, wake boarding, rowing and fishing. The Derwent is a renowned fishery with plenty of bream available throughout the year with December - April being prime time; sea run trout are also prevalent in the river after the spawn best times being August to October but trout can be found in the salt water reaches through until April if...

Stopped here for a quick snack and a leak. Trenton is still missing but its all part of the experience.
