Worth Every Step – Stunning Views at Olpererhütte
The hike to Olpererhütte is a fantastic experience and absolutely worth the effort. It takes about 2 hours of steady uphill climbing and around 1 hour to hike back down—roughly 10 km round-trip. The trail is well-marked and scenic all the way, surrounded by alpine landscapes that only get better the higher you go.
Once you reach the hut at the top, take a short 2-minute walk to the iconic suspension bridge—and that’s where the magic happens. The view from the bridge is breathtaking: panoramic mountain peaks, snowy ridges, and the turquoise lake (Schlegeisspeicher) far below. It’s one of the most photogenic spots in the Alps.
The bridge area can get a bit crowded, but people are respectful—everyone patiently waits their turn to take photos or videos. You can even ask someone nearby to snap a photo of you with the epic scenery behind.
Highly recommended if you’re in the Zillertal region. Go early if you want to beat the crowds, and bring good hiking shoes and water. A must-do for any hiking enthusiast or mountain lover!
