This place is heaven. Unsure how I originally found out about it. I unsuccessfully tried to get in at Christmas for 2 years. As soon as dates would open, they'd be gone. This past Christmas there was finally a cancellation and we snatched it. Stayed for 5 days and it was heaven. Super nice staff. Quiet, clean property. Drinks are cold. They pick you up and drop you off at "airport" free of charge. We upgraded to all inclusive and basically dined on fresh caught lobster daily and had our own skiff to explore. Saw the Swimming Pigs a couple of times every day, snorkeled the Grotto, and Pablo Escobar's sunken plane. We had such an amazing time, we went back the end of June. It was as wonderful the first time as it was the last. I'm looking forward to staying and planning on coming back again and again. Keep in mind though - if you're looking for loud nightlife - Staniel Cay is NOT the place for that. It's very quiet. The only thing on the island is basically the Yacht Club which was perfectly fine for us. Laid back and off the beaten path is my kind of vacation!! I'm guessing the negative reviews of from day trippers coming in for cocktails and not actually staying at the property - disregard them. They came to Staniel Cay for all the wrong reasons. This...

If you're planning a trip to SCYC, beware. Should your travel plans change, you will lose it all. Mostly visited by a loud, vulgar, obnoxious and ostentatious crowd of bozos with more money to spend than manners to show, this place has lost its charm that made it a great destination in the 90ies. Luckily, better and much cheaper alternatives are popping up all over the Exumas. Try Cape Santa Maria or newly opened Cape Eleuthera Resort & Marina. These are all places where guests are not just a credit card number to charge but humans to be welcomed and pampered. SCYC has run its course, I'm afraid. The pigs have moved in and are running...

This place is a hidden gem. The people are genuinely friendly, warm, and welcoming. We visited the island right in time for their annual fishing tournament where we participated and got the third place prize. We stayed at the Embrace Resort, where everyone made our stay a great success from the grounds keepers sourcing fresh coconuts for us, the best and sweetest I have ever put my lips on. The housekeeping staff moved so quickly to clean the room. Front Desk was awesome, Dexy and Gabby are a great asset to this resort. We will...

This place is beautiful! Bring your own food though. Don't expect to find milk or cheese. Eggs and bread, yes. But you need to reserve your bread the day before at the pink store. Go to Lindsey's boutique. She's such a sweet lady and prices are good and pretty much the only place to buy souvenirs other than the yacht club.

Stopped in for provisions. Cute little dinghy harbor. Walked to the laundromat/liquor store for beer and wine (not a great selection and very expensive). Continued on foot to the "blue" store. The delivery ship had just been there so lots of fresh produce and other essentials. Again, pricey but at least there was choice!

Convenient to get to and from by boat or plane. The main yacht club has a great bar and atmosphere! The island has close accessibility to Big Major with the swimming pigs, Fowl Cay with a nice restaurant, the Grotto, and hundreds of pristine beaches ensuring you will find your own perfect slice of heaven.
