Equipped with plenty of auto belay systems, the climbing gym is definitely prepared for the climbers who don't have a buddy. At the time of writing this the holds are also relatively new which was nice. You can use multi-sport card if you have it which is great. That's it for the pros imo. As for the cons - the wall is in the same room as 4 badminton courts, crammed at the very end of the room. The space is so narrow that you can't even sit calmly at the forefront of the benches without having to constantly monitor if someone will land on your head, let alone walk freely next to the walls. The grades placed on the walls are highly inaccurate ( I went together with 2 novices and an intermediate climber and all where of the same opinion, not to mention I heard such remarks from random people in the room). The dressing rooms are extra humid and wet and also extremely narrow. The walls although decorated with those very many auto belays are not very tall. All in all Sofia has enough climbing gyms so that I really wouldn't consider climbing there lest I'm stranded with no climbing buddy and also...
Read moreNote that the entrance is via the spinning doors and on floor#1 via the elevator, not the central europe sport hall. A good place to try. Due note you have to pay a fee for the rent of climbing gear and you have to have tight comfortable shoes as climbing without such is not allowed. The place is huge and there are a LOT of roads that are regularly updated and changed. The gear seems reliable and there is a ton of people on the queue, so do mind the people that are up, as going down sometimes makes you swing and cause a collision. Not my thing but fun to try. Always be careful and...

The showers could be a bit cleaner. I always feel the floors feel a bit dirty but this is one of my favorite activities to do before going to work! Good staff as well as the climbing area is always...
