FACTORY Phnom Penh — Local services in Khan Mean Chey

I am a frequent visitor to Factory as I teach some students who live in the neighbouring Urban Village condominiums.

There is much to like about Factory as a work space, shopping centre, and place to walk. There are several coffee shops, a movie theatre and a few shops. There are a trails for riding a bike, an area for skateboarding and basketball.

Factory is very trendy, covered with art and "graffiti" and artistically developed open spaces.

So why 3 stars?

Factory seems like a great concept that hasn't quite turned out in the real world. Shops are few and far between and the few shops that are there, are frequently closed. The cinema is impressive but largely empty and quiet. Coffee shops are very high-end and expensive....and bereft of customers.

The whole place looks like it is on the verge of going out of business. The overall emptiness of Factory means that it is very comfortable to walk or cycle around but like the police say in the movies, "Nothing to see here. Please keep moving!"

Pro Tip: There is some amazing "street" art here. It is almost an open air museum. If you happen to be in the area, it is a great place for an afternoon stroll.

With any luck, it may add some flourishing businesses in the future but for now, it is largely...

It's an interesting place for work, fun, and new discovery in lifestyle to me. A place you can enjoy a spacious and open Cafe, food store, book stores, and more. There's workspace for rent with reasonable price for individual or institution with good internet connection. I appreciate the fact that the owner is creative in his business idea of renovating an old factory to a multi cultural friendly space for everyone who like to explore new lifestyle and culture. Since part of my job as a translator related to gender, children's and women's rights, I low-key noticed the diversity here among staffs and clients. I'm contented that it's an inclusive space for everyone regardless who they are. It's safe and well taken care place for you to enjoy time for work, meeting friends, and eating out. Factory Phnom Penh is a dynamic mixed-use creative and commercial hub located in a repurposed garment factory complex in Phnom Penh. I had there's many times to participate in events, Factory Phnom Penh is also a popular venue for events, with spaces for concerts, markets, fashion shows, and other gatherings. And this place is the kids friendly.
