Wonderful, friendly market just south of Nanaimo. Lots of fresh veggies (just picked that morning), fruits & berries and really nice baked goods. We drive up for the cherry tomatoes (so sweet and juicy) and the baby carrots. Bought a loaf of spelt bread last visit and will definitely be buying that again. A trip here always includes a visit to the "Cookie Lady" for a giant cookie to eat on the way home.
And the fudge, my heart was broken because the fudge lady was not there last Sunday so I could get my fix of Creme Brulee fudge. I have been buying fudge from this vendor for years, starting with the Filberg Festival in the Comox Valley, and she always impresses me with her flavours and the freshness of her fudge. Highly recommended although be warned, it is addictive. Maybe next time it will last long enough for me to take...

There are two parking areas - the main one is just across the lane from the market, which is only a very short walk across a partly paved, partly packed gravel driveway to get to the market itself. Bring cash for best results - most vendors take credit cards but not all. Come early for best results - bread and meat vendors often sell out by about 12 noon. No shade, so wear a hat if...

Poutine was good but oversoaked with gravy. I would ask for the sauce to be put to the side but thatโs me โฆ I know I know thatโs not traditional. Did not have a chance to try additional different trucks but they had many including sausages and hot dogs, cotton candy, tacos, fresh brewed coffee, and empanadas! Multiple people with baked goodies and whole loaves of bread. All these stalls were fabulous as were all the produce stalls. Even a tent with packaged pho to take him and...
