I would recommend booking elsewhere. We booked this cabin at the very beginning of March as we wanted to have a mini honeymoon due to covid affecting our original Mexico plan. At the time of booking, there was no travel restrictions between provinces (were from Alberta)
On May 5th, British Columbia asked all travellers to refrain from coming to their province for non essential reasons.
I emailed Karen and asked her if she’d be willing to work with us regarding our booking and the restrictions. Karen’s policy states we need to cancel within 30 days. Which brought us to may 8th. BC government has restricted travellers until AT LEAST may 25. I asked Karen if she would possibly extend the cancellation time in hopes the government allows travellers again and we are able to come. Karen replied and lied, risking myself and fiancé. She stated that there is no restrictions in place, this in fact, was not true. She then gave us 3 “options” to choose from.
Confirm an alternative 3 night stay in The Lodge for a stay to be taken before 30th November 2021 (subject to availability), and a sum of $225 paid will be transferred to that new reservation. A difference in the rate may apply.  If this option is taken, the balance of the stay must be paid 30 days in advance of arrival by a valid Canadian credit card. Once a new confirmation date is chosen, then the date cannot be changed further.  This option must be confirmed in writing, with a confirmed alternative date of stay by 30th April 2021. (This allowed only 4 days to figure everything out, and why do we have to pay in full?) Since when does a business operate this way?
Postpone the June reservation, in writing prior to 8th May 2021, and receive a credit voucher, valid for $175 against an unconfirmed future 3 night stay, taken by 30th November 2021Â Â ($50 of our deposit was stolen in the option)
The outstanding balance on the current 3 night reservation is $550 plus tax, and would effectively be due by 8th May 2021. Should you wish to extend the cancellation option for a 3 night stay until 25th May 2021, thereby continuing to secure your dates, I would be prepared to do this provided a second night is paid by 8th May 2021, using a valid Canadian credit card. If after 25th May 2021 the updated advisory is unchanged, and you feel that you do not wish to travel, the third night would be waived. (So we loose a whole extra night of money regardless)
I am so disappointed that Karen was not realistically willing to work with us in these unprecedented times. I emailed Karen and expressed my disappointment. Karen has failed to reply to my emails leaving us totally
In the dark. I absolutely would not recommend this place. Although a beautiful property, the customer service is less than acceptable and I would suggest spending your hard earned money elsewhere as Karen scammed us...
