While we were on our “Remember When Tour” our group met at the museum. We were initially met by Beryl which we had a lovely visit with her as she was getting ready to open the museum and made us feel so very welcome. Then along came Keith, (another volunteer) and he also came and chatted with us, and even took some group pictures to document our visit to the museum! After that we were greeted by Margaret who welcomed us into the museum once it was opened! While we were there and were looking at the displays Ruth (another volunteer with a wealth of information) came along and chatted with us! We had such a very warm welcome from all the volunteers. The displays and the history is so well documented. They even had a room set aside for people doing research on the history or family history of Hedley! Once we ventured into the Tea Room we enjoyed delicious homemade lemon meringue pie and coffee. Pat, (yet another knowledgeable volunteer) came along and aided us in putting names to some of the pictures one of our group was donating to the museum! It felt like we were sitting with family sharing stories and the history! The volunteers added so much to our visit! Our time spent at the museum was thoroughly enjoyable. It is a great place to go back and visit again, take in more of all the museum has to offer! A must stop along the way! Well worth the time and appreciate the rich history of this...

These guides are very knowledgeable of the history of Hedley and will keep you enlightened throughout your visit. Of course, should you wish, you can peruse the museum at your own pace; taking in all the incredible photographs taken from 1898 through to 1955 when the gold was depleted.
