I recently had the pleasure of staying at Maple Bay Cabins and found the natural beauty of the area and the clean and well-maintained cabins to be a highlight of my trip. The cabins are easily accessible, while bathroom facilities and parking areas are in good condition. The serene environment and beautiful surroundings make Maple Bay Cabins an excellent choice for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Despite the overall enjoyable experience, there were some issues that marred my stay at Maple Bay Cabins and lessened its quality. Despite the beautiful view of the lake, a large area around it had become practically unusable due to the excessive amount of geese droppings. It was challenging to walk around without stepping on the mess, and I noticed that the surrounding area had not been cleaned during my stay. In contrast to other lakes such as Buntzen Lake, where the staff regularly cleans the beach and keeps the area usable, the staff here made no effort to clean up the mess during the several days I stayed, making the situation worse day by day.

Moreover, the fire pit's location near the bathroom facilities detracted from the overall experience. The close proximity of the fire pit to the bathroom, coupled with the unpleasant odour emanating from it, is truly bothersome. The foul smell emitted from the bathroom ventilation system renders sitting by the fire pit and relishing its warmth and the surrounding view uncomfortable. Moving the fire pit to a more suitable location would be a better solution.

The location provides easy access to several local tourist attractions, making it an ideal destination for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in a natural setting. Regarding pricing, rates for the cabins start from $96 per night, depending on the season and number of guests.

Despite these unpleasant issues, I still enjoyed my stay at Maple Bay Cabins and would recommend them to anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing vacation in a beautiful natural setting. I hope that the management team takes note of the feedback provided and works towards improving these minor issues to enhance the overall experience for...

Good place for kids, and away from amusement park feel of Cultus Lake.

Access to water is good, water float toys and rafts work well here.

Nice, new grounds and cabins.

As noted, there is only one fireplace for 25 cabins, many people had propane fireplaces that they have brought in.

Only one wall plug, but it has usb ports, so you don't need charger blocks.

No table or hooks inside the cabin means everything is on the floor, but there is reasonable floor space.

There is no privacy at this site, the cabins are all within 20ft of each other. The site is well suited to groups occupying multiple cabins. There was a large group occupying 6 cabins when we stayed, plus other smaller groups.

There isn't much for bike trails in the immediate area, too steep for young kids, suitable for 8-14 year old kids for point a to b trips, nothing worthy of a family ride.

We found our cabin was not well cleaned, dirty under the beds, we found three different socks from previous guests. The washrooms appear to only be cleaned in the morning, and needed more than this. There is only one family washroom and it wasn't particularly clean, and the door didn't close or lock for the whole week I was there, which made it very challenging to use with two young children.

In the COVID era, I definitely would have preferred if the washroom design was a row of family washrooms with doors accessed from outside so as to limit passing other guests, maybe a good design tip for the...

Cozy cabins right by the lake. The interior of the cabin was pretty basic but tidy and clean. There's a twin bunk bed, a twin bed and a queen bed for a total sleeping capacity of 5. You need to get your bedding (bedsheet, blanket, pillow). Other than the beds, there is no other furniture or appliance. There is heat, lighting and an electrical outlet inside the cabin.

There is no thermostat to control the heater though. During our stay, it was getting so hot inside the cabin that we had to open the window. The only way to turn the heater off is from the fuse-box.

The porch has a picnic table with a stainless steel cooking surface (you bring your own stove or BBQ). There is ample lighting in the porch. There is NO FIREPIT ONSITE though and the only way to have a fire is either by bringing your own or renting on-site (available for pickup only between 7:30AM-3PM).

Common utensil wash area had 2 sinks, out of which only one was working when we were there. There is a family washroom/shower and 2 additional showers each inside men's and women's washrooms. Toilets in the men's washroom were not super clean the day we arrived but were cleaned thoroughly the next morning (special shoutout to the park...

The staff are racist. If you are Asian, you may want to consider this before you book. We are a group of friends who booked cabins and a campsite at Maple Bay. We gathered at one cabin for lunch and dinner together for fun. On the second night, three staff members came and told us there were too many people at the cabin. They said only five people were allowed, even though some other cabins also had more than five people. They told us we should go to the beach to gather together. They said this area was only for people who booked the cabin, not to those who were camping, which meant they didn’t allow us to have guests. Later, they told us that someone reported we were noisy, even though it was only around 6–7 p.m. The next day, we had lunch and dinner at the beach. The staff told my friend that his dog was not allowed at the beach, even though other people had dogs there. I took the pictures as proof. Rules are for everyone to follow, and sometimes we are new to a place. Their job should be to guide everyone and treat everyone fairly. The way they acted made us feel discriminated against, and we will never want to go back there again.

If you come with kids or the area where kids are heavily involved, you would not find a quiet time to relax as they wake up at 6:30 AM run around and make noise. Depending on the time of day washing dishes will be challenging especially some people have couple dishes, but they take 10 minutes to wash it. There is one family room to take a shower and use the restroom again certain time would be important to use this specific room otherwise it will be always occupied and you may use Men’s or Women’s. The lower the number of your cabin the closer you are to the entry point - nothing wrong with it but note that higher numbers are close to the water if that’s what you want. Food, drinks, sheets, pillow you need to bring them all and as you can see there is no washrooms in the cabins nor anywhere to wash hands - so for those use the public use areas. When we went one dishwashing sink was not woking and their family room bathroom’s shower head was broken and not fixed for the entire stay… so expect nothing but nature’s beauty to enjoy your time with friends and family.
