Bowen Island Golf Club — Local services in Bowen Island Municipality

I visited the island as a guest. The public trails are amazing. Part of the trail I followed goes along the side of the golf course. I got turned around at one point, but I could see the coast and followed paths down hoping to reorient on the coast. Apparently I had trespassed onto a path exclusively for the golf course. There were no signs indicating when the public trail became a private path. There were no fences, no gates, nothing to indicate I was unwelcome. I was waylaid by staff who informed me I was not allowed to walk on that path. I apologized and stated my intention to retrace my steps and leave the area immediately. I was not allowed. Instead I was directed to a nearby road. It was quite an upsetting experience. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried until I eventually found my way back. I understand that some golf courses like to maintain an exclusive atmosphere. What I do not understand is why this golf club cannot afford to post signs, especially when they know public trails run right by their property. If you choose to visit Bowen, I advise you to steer well clear of the golf course. They do not like visitors...

We visited Bowen island and a local recommended this place for dinner- it truly did not disappoint! The food was so tasty and the place absolutely beautiful. The service was great, they had such a caring attitude and treated us so well. It’s such a nice date place with the ocean view on one side and lots of greenery on the other. Absolutely recommended and we will be back! Thank you to the amazing chef and workers, it made our experience on Bowen island one...

Beautiful atmosphere with outstanding food. Friday night pizza is a must visit, the chef is fantastic. The feature tacos are always outstanding. The potato sides are to die for. Whether you like golf or not, it’s the perfect setting to taken in all the views of Seymour Bay. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for lunch, dinner or just a patio hang out with a nice glass of white wine...
