The SHED — Restaurant in Bowen Island Municipality

It was nice to eat at the Shed for the most part. The view is incredible, the food was decent and the server was super nice.

We sat in the outdoor patio area and the view was stunning from every angle. Would love to also see it at night.

Our server was lovely and helpful, explained when necessary and brought everything promptly.

The fried new potatoes were incredible! The cheeseburger was pretty good too! The avocado toast with magic mushroom wasn't the greatest as all flavours were overpowered by grainy mustard. Again, the fried potatoes were incredible.

What really needs to improve is the patio chair/table situation. Either you sit at a low firepit type table where the chairs are too high to be eat comfortably, or you sit at a high table where the chairs are also too high to be comfortable, and they have no back rest so you can't lean back.

I was at The Shed Restaurant in Bowen island on August 3, 2025, around 3 PM. Although the view and the lake close to the restaurant were amazing, the experience itself was quite disappointing. We ordered two dishes, smoked chicken quesadillas and Habanero Chicken sandwich, and unfortunately, Habanero Chicken sandwich, was overburnt.

They were extremely slow to prepare the food, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. The staff were so busy that they even forgot to leave the bottled water on our table.

Don’t eat here when it’s busy. Table of 4, we sat for 30 mins waiting for food until we were told after the fact that we had to wait an additional 45 minutes. If you want to miss your ferry, then eat here, no communication for what seems to be inexperienced young staff who don’t have an understanding of which tables to service and prioritize. After that inonveniencd, they still made me pay $5 for the bottle of coke that I was drinking for the past 30 mins instead of enjoying some food. Very...
