Please think twice before brining your family here. Staff members were in constant groups socializing ignoring customers. At one point they were taking multiple selfies behind the counter with their middle fingers and and tongues out over and over again while I was waiting for someone to help me. Finally someone did, but when I noticed they wouldn't stop I asked them politely to be mindful in front of all the children here, they ignored me as if I said nothing, the gentlemen serving me even noticed i wasn't heard. I let it go, but turned and noticed there were other children waiting behind me to be served, so I repeated myself and asked them again, politely, to be mindful of their behaviour with the children around. I thought that was it.
The employee's began to clearly mock me together out loud as I'm waiting for my card to go through. Confused I asked them if there was a problem. And one employee strutted aggressively towards me saying that yes, there was a problem. At this point I was even more confused as to where the hostility is coming from, knowing what just happened and knowing how amicably I had approached it. I repeat that my problem is the inappropriate behaviour around a place filled with impressionable children. Not to mention groups of families on Fathers Day.
They decided to escalate the situation, speak over each other and gang up on me and a six and three year old all the way out to the parking lot terrifying the kids for calling out their inappropriate behaviour. While also berating the six year old boy for crying out of the fear they caused.
Outside another person found me with the kids who had saw what happened took my information and hopefully will contact me soon, because we are all just very dumbfounded as to how this happened. The situation should have ended at me just asking them to be mindful for something clearly wrong, our day didn't have to be ruined... I did not plan to come to this place to leave with crying children...but here we are.
I was also ignored amongst other customers when asking for help with the cards not working or purchasing anything, there was only one person who would notice anyone. We are disgusted, do not take your kids here it is clearly not safe.
No management or adults available to get the situation under control either which is...
Read morewould like to admit when I'm mistaken and I would like to edit that there is in fact food and drinks. I have just never come across them and somehow never seen anyone eating aha. My huge mistake guys and have added a star. Coming from an old underground screemo grunge lover, I still think the music should be less club like and add more action movie, classic rock and the like. Also please do consider a sensory friendly day or time slot! Again, my sincerest apologies for the overlook!
This venue is packed with activities - Laser Tag, Arcade games, mini golf, party "rooms"(no doors to the party area, just an area set up by barriers for a tiny bit of privacy), overpriced prizes for items bought at the dollarstore. Typical money bringing fun! My major concern is their choice in music for a bunch of tiny humans running around. I shouldn't feel like I'm at a club where I can't hear myself think over the DJ. Find a good 80s, 90s, 00s Playlist that is censored and have kids "shoot" each other to ACDC or the classic kungfoo fighting or Mortal Combat. It's not a club and there may be adults that come to play but you still don't need club music! The mini golf has been the same for as long as I can remember with no changes, additional obstacles or updates. You have people walking backwards through the levels while you're playing, impatiently waiting behind you and the music is so bloody loud that you can't hear yourself think anywhere in there to focus enough to take your shot. Food? Nope. Drinks? Nope. Washrooms? Yeah.
There is much I would hope to see change and improve to accommodate the tiny humans. A visit there shouldn't leave them hungry, thirsty and deafened. Do a sensory friendly day or time slot, add some food and hydration and change your music. It's not a club. Stop treating it as such.
Invest in some better prizes for heavens sake, parents spend enough money there and there clearly isn't any updates or renos to the place, can you not afford decent prizes that aren't mass bought from the dollarstore?
Step it up.
I gave it 3 stars because my son loves the mini golf set up and his opinion matters to this review as...
Read moreMy sister and I have our nephew and niece visiting us from New York (ages 12 & 13) and we were looking for something we could take them to do in the evening that was not a movie theatre since we both still had to work some days during their visit.
We took them here last night (it was a wednesday night) around 9:30pm is when we got there. We didn't think we would be able to do much due to the time we got there but the staff were so incredibly lovely. We did the combo pack and luckily got there just in time to enjoy one round of laser tag and then we breezed through the mini golf course (we don't keep score so we were just goofing around and took us like 25 mins to get through the course). The combo also came with $5 game cards for the arcade so they also got to enjoy a few arcade games.
I don't typically like being that person thats there right till closing and like I said, we already thought we would not be able to enjoy the full experience due to our timing. We did not feel rushed out or unwanted at all - they were very lovely and patient and kind. We left about 15 minutes before closing and the kids had an absolute blast. Special shoutout to the gentlemen with glasses and curly hair who helped us to time out/plan our time there and suggested the combo passes and to the girl who was there until closing for helping the kids with picking their prizes. I apologize for not getting your names for this review but wanted to still give my appreciation!
Thanks Glow Zone staff! Kids already wanna come back on their next...
