Was a nice restaurant coming in with a familiar 50s theme, where the highlight was the host/owner of the restaurant. Unfortunately the food could of been better, it was overpriced for the quality and portions. The burger was delicious although the poutine lacked good flavour, bad canned gravy taste and the fries were generic and small along with the cheap mozzarella cheese. Girlfriend had scrambled egg breakfast with bacon, she was not impressed.. described the eggs as chewy and dense while the bacon seemed deep fried. The price we paid did NOT reflect the quality and therefore we don't recommend this restaurant to others until this is taken care of.
That delicious burger ended up giving me an upset stomach and trips to the bathroom later in the day so I'm curious to how the food is being...
Read moreI feel terrible leaving this review, I really do, but this was probably the worst breakfast I've ever eaten. The hostess was sweet and very accommodating, a real joy to talk to. Her bubbly personality and kind nature is a treat. Unfortunately, my meal was awful. So much so that I didn't even want to mention it as I didn't have any faith that the cook could do better. My scrambled eggs were hard, flaky and chewy. The bacon was alright, but the price for what I got was very disappointing. $9 for two eggs and 5 pieces of bacon is a bit of a reach... Even more so when the quality is so poor.

The donair itself was great - I have a strong feeling future donairs from other places will be subject to the phrase "eh, it's good, but it's not North of Smokey Mountain good". The young robust gentlemen serving me was incredibly kind and genuinely seemed happy to serve us. The community neighbourhood itself had a different overall feel from cape Breton Island and certainly a different feel from where I am from in Ontario, and it was...
