History repeats it's self. I contacted the company by email on June 20th and booked for the tour on July 10th at 10am. I asked specifically about cancellation or refunds if no whales were spotted. I was told the cancellation policy was 24 hours and free passes given if no large whales were spotted. Given credit card info to hold seats. We also provided a cell phone number.
I saw the above review a few days before our booked tour so Sunday night I decided to send an email to confirm.
Checked in the morning departure of 6:30am to ensure that we were not rushed. There was no response. We did not have service for different parts of our drive.
When we arrived at the location for the tour a bit before 9 as we like to be early my husband noticed he had a voice mail from 7:30 it was the company stating that our tour was cancelled! He called her back twice as service was lost. We were told that no one else was booked for the 10am tour and so as per stipulation they were not going out! We were never told this. Two and a bit hours is not enough time to cancel something. They offered us a spot on the 1pm tour- we stated we couldn't wait that long.
Best thing they did was get us into the Brier Island whale and sea bird tour. Which we had to rush to as the ferry to the next Island was at 9.
This new tour was amazing! I would highly recommend Brier Island whale and sea bird tour!
When I arrived back home they had sent a reply email at 7:15 again this is not sufficient notice of a cancellation. Especially as I was told 24 hours was needed for me to cancel.
We had traveled from Ontario with one of the highlights to be whale watching and it was almost ruined because of...
Read moreThis tour was absolutely AMAZING! I can't say enough great things about the experience we had. We were so impressed by Mandy, the tour guide, and her knowledge (and humour!). She was great at answering our many questions and had tons of interesting information on whales, birds, other sea creatures, and the area in general. The kids and I learned a lot!!!
We enjoyed being on a smaller boat, it felt more authentic, especially knowing it was a real fishing boat, and had been passed down through generations. It wasn't crowded at all in spite of it being fully booked. I watched some of the larger tour boats on the water and they looked crowded. On our boat, everyone was able to go to one side of the boat when a whale was spotted with ample room. The boat captain was awesome as well, it was a great boat ride! We enjoyed being on the water, even when there wasn't anything in sight (and a lot of the time there was something to see!).
I didn't expect to spend so much time beside humpback whales, it was incredible and beautiful! We also saw some harbour porpoise and a sweet little seal who swam close by the boat!!
An experience like no other, and one we will never forget!! Thank you for the trip!
Highly, highly, highly...
Read moreAs I read the other reviews, it makes me even sorrier that I wasn’t able to go on the whale watching trip today. My friends and I drove almost 2 hours only to discover that there would be no trip with no explanation. Although I was told otherwise, as far as I know there was no effort to contact me as I have no record on my phone that I was telephoned or texted and no email in my inbox (and yes I checked my spam). When I received a call back after leaving a message today I was told that I had yelled and hung up on the young woman who called me the day before, even though I never received a call and never spoke with her. I was also told that they had called and left a message with one of my fiends, but there was no message on the land line that she had used to make the reservation. We were very sad and disappointed not to have had the opportunity to go out in the Bay of Fundy because of course. all the other tours were full and we go home tomorrow. It was supposed to have been the final adventure of our week in Nova Scotia and instead it was a great...
