Rockway - More than just a wedding venue!

We had our wedding and shower at Rockway this past spring/summer and trying to put into words how they made our special day, not just a special day, but the absolute best day of our lives would probably be impossible, but here goes!

The venue was pristine and so picturesque! Our photos were incredible and the setting really set the tone for a beautiful day!

He took care of literally everything He got back to us quickly and was always positive He did everything he could to turn our vision into a reality He worked tirelessly to make sure every last detail was ‘just right’

Kitchen and function staff: Our food, signature cocktails and late night menu was raved about by everyone there and devoured Every last detail was carried out perfectly They thought of things to help our guests we could never have thought of They went the extra mile every single time there was the opportunity to do so

I would not hesitate to call Rockway for all functions big or small. What you need in a manager, is a problem-solver and Dave is elite at his job. He must treat his staff very well, because they all work so well together and from planning to execution, they were all on the same page the entire day and night.

We stopped at this winery for lunch as part of a Discovery package. There was a brunch menu and date night menu taped on the table. We were hoping to order off those menus, and no one mentioned as we were moving to the other patio we couldn't get those items. Okay fine, we'll take basic sandwiches and pub fare for lunch. Not the dining experience we were looking for at a winery.

After a more than 45 minute wait, we finally got our food. The fish of the fish and chips was a good sized portion, fried fresh and crispy. The chips that had been upgraded to a poutine had a burnt taste and were cold.

Round table items ordered: Wings insufficient sauce, wings were not marinated, meat was bland. Burger & fries: Burger bun was cold, not toasted. Burger was hot. Fries were again cold. Cubano: Pulled pork tasted good, but again, the bread wasn't toasted and was cold. Pizza: Decent, nothing special. Dip: Dip was good, tortilla chips were made fresh.

The waiter said the kitchen was overwhelmed with the orders.....um...These are pretty basic dishes. If it wasn't for the fact the beef short rib serving that came with the discovery pass tasted so good, we wouldn't have stayed. Someone can cook, just not the chef this...

I’m livid after our experience at this golf course, and it all boils down to Donnie, the pro shop employee who’s apparently the director of golf who was hostile from the moment we stepped through the door. No hello, no basic courtesy just an attitude like we were bothering him. We had planned our golf based on the price listed online Friday, only to arrive Sunday and find out the cost had inexplicably jumped. When we pulled it up and literally showed him the price for our round he just ignored it and said “ I don’t know what to tell you here’s the prices” and pointed to the pricing board. Most normal establishments would be apologetic and maybe offer a free range bucket or whatever, but after we further said that isn’t right that your advertising this price and not honouring it he said in an aggressive manner “ do you want to golf here or not”.

I’ve never dealt with such unprofessional and outright disrespect at any golf course. Donnie’s attitude alone ruined our day before we even got to the first tee. This place clearly doesn’t value its customers or care about honoring the prices they advertise online
