Kali catered our wedding with 140 guests on July 14th 2018 at Stone Hearst on Salt Spring Island, BC. She and her team did a magnificent job despite very complicated logistics and limited facilities. She had to use a commercial kitchen in Surrey, rent a large truck, get on the 8AM ferry with her team, set up the tables, and finalize the food using the house kitchen (not a commercial kitchen). Our wedding was the largest wedding ever held at the Stone Hearst at the time, and she coordinated with the venue owner to assure that the serving utensils (glasses, dishes, table linen, napkins, etc.) are taken care of. She kindly offered table decoration free of charge and also guided us on details that we may have missed (we did not have a wedding planner).

She provided a lot of samples for us few months before the wedding. Her menu was generous in the number of items we could pick for each course and was reasonably priced. As the groom I did not get to eat much but I really liked the lamb dish. I asked multiple guests and everybody was very happy with the food. They liked the prawn appetizer and the wedding rice beside multiple other items. Her serving dishes were elegant and her staff were very helpful and hard working.

In terms of improvement, there was some mis-coordination between the servers and the bar (not handled by Kali's team) on white wines. Bar thought servers will take care of wines, and servers thought they will only serve the red wine! as the result a lot of white wines was left for us to drink!

I am NOT exaggerating when I say that every single couple should use Mega Alexander and Kali for their wedding catering!

In considering different options and even tasting from some other caterers, Kali and Mega Alexander stood out as the best. The menu options and variety are unmatched. At our tasting, my husband and I were absolutely blown away—not only by the flavor, but also by how generous and diverse the portions were. It was so clear that Kali truly loves and takes pride in her craft, and we left that tasting with complete confidence that she would deliver the highest quality food and experience on our big day.

And yet, somehow, we were STILL blown away all over again on our actual wedding day—along with all of our guests! The appetizers were beautifully presented, the buffet was perfectly organized and efficient, and the flow made it easy for everyone to get their food quickly. There was never a shortage of anything, and some of our guests even joked that the appetizers alone could have been the dinner because they were so delicious and filling, compared to other weddings they've been to.

It’s been a month since our wedding, and we’re still getting comments from friends and family about how incredible the food was. Beyond the food itself, working with Kali and her team was such a joy. From the very first time we reached out, Kali was incredibly kind, accommodating, and thoughtful in all of her questions and answers, I felt as though she cared for me like I was family!

You don’t just want Kali and her team at your event, you NEED her. She is incredible at what she does and is probably the sweetest person alive. Right from the get go while planning my wedding, she was attentive and helpful, always getting back to me in a timely manner. She was never pushy and worked with my time schedule to get a tasting out to us at home. From the moment we tasted her food, we knew we had to have her cater our wedding. There were so many flavours and interesting dishes that she provided and had a wonderful selection to choose from. Also her beef just melts in your mouth.. When it came down to the wedding, they served appys during cocktail hour, and so many people came up to me afterwards to say how delicious it was. Dinner was everything we hoped for. It was extremely flavourful with high quality ingredients. I usually bloat after eating, but didn’t after our tasting nor our wedding.
