Valleyview Gardens is certainly not the typical Garden Centre am use to. The first time here I spent hours looking around and taking pictures, and yes the last one out the closing door.
My second return here, at high noon accompany with two Toddlers. For sure we had our packed lunches, snacks and lemon water; which we later partake of in the comfort of the Store at a beautiful iron cast table for two, centered with the most gorgeous potted plants ever. After which we continued on our exploration throughout the garden. Alas, time do go by quickly when we're having fun. And yes, we were the last ones out the door and through the gate, with our purchases of plants and flowers.
The third time here, we arrived just before 11 o'clock. We went indoors, said our hello's and went on our exploration. We went all around, outdoors, indoors, here and there finding this and that... different kinds of plants bearing their fruits, all kinds of flowers and roses, house plants, succulents, rare and exotic plant, and the most unusual plants with no names. A large variety of pots and planters in all size, shape and colours. All kinds of garden whimsy, lots of decorative dodas, soil mix, plant food, etc. The thing is, every time you go to Valleyview Gardens its never the same. New arrivals of almost everything. If you don't find what you're looking for, the people there are courteous and most helpful to get it for you. My two little companions and I can't stop talking about it. We've gone to other gardens and stores, but nothing like our Garden at Valleyview. I've posted all the pictures taken at Valleyview Gardens and from those posting families and friends have made their choice of plants they need for their homes or gardens. Reason for this is, Valleyview Gardens opens at a time you're going to work and closed when you're leaving work. Well, you know what weekends are like, they are at most, busier that work days. We always enjoy being...
Read moreI had an interesting experience on Saturday, July 5th. I am a regular customer and I've bought many plants from this nursery. That Saturday, I was putting the cart back at the usual location at the corner at the entrance. I decided I would take a sweep at the bonsai area to see if there were anything new. I was in front of the sliding doors when i noticed a young male employee pushing his cart towards the cart area. I stopped against the shelf to let him through and noticed another young male pushing more carts indoors. Only the second male decides to push the cart through the entrance, letting it go. It nearly hits my ankle, when he catches it in time. I decided to let it go, but then when they were at the cart area, the first male asked the second "why did you fake that lady out like that?", to which the other responded "the lady got in the way". How though? I was against the shelf waiting for the first male employee to pass, when that other moron decided it would be a great idea to push metal carts (the larger sized ones), releasing it from his hands, through the sliding door entrance, towards a customer. So, not only did he NOT apologize after, but blamed me for...standing still? I texted my husband who was in the car that I was coming back. The employees the cash were all busy to complain and at that point I just wanted to leave. Then noticed that the two employees were walking towards the parking lot ahead of me. They were walking towards the direction where my car was parked. They continuously kept look back at me. Why? Maybe because one of them was not maintaining safe work habits and the other realized that he was wrong for doing that. I would have let it go, but he verbally blamed me for "getting in the way". The annoying part is they were talking loud. Did they think I didn't speak English or did they purposely want me to hear the conversation? The only two stars I'm giving are...
Read moreI am absolutely furious. On Wednesday, May 21 I visited Valleyview to select trees for a milestone event scheduled for June 4. Per Dwight's direction, we tagged four Moclame trees for rental, we planned to rent four or five more olive trees. I also planned to purchase nine topiaries. This is in addition to a separate order for thousands of dollars in annuals I had just purchased. Six days later, on Tuesday, May 27, I returned to Valleyview, only to discover that every single one of the tagged trees had been sold. Not held, not reserved — sold. If that’s how you choose to run your business, so be it. But the dishonesty is staggering. Why deliberately mislead a client? If you had been honest from the outset, I would have immediately made alternate arrangements. I followed up with Dwight by email twice. Not once did he provide a clear, truthful answer. My business and my personal reputation depend on me honouring my word. I will move heaven and earth, if I have to, to honour my commitments. On Monday, June 2 — two days before the event — I checked in again, increasingly anxious, and was informed you were now sold out of everything except two Moclames. I wasted hours scrambling to find replacement trees, ultimately sourcing four through Landscape Sculptures. It wasn’t the full order, but it would have to do. And now — insult to injury — I’ve learned that the trees I rented from Landscape Sculptures were being returned to Valleyview Gardens?! Meaning you had them the entire time.
This is beyond unprofessional. It’s outright deceitful. You lied to me, you wasted my time, and you jeopardized the success of an important event for no reason other than your own carelessness and disregard. Was this order a joke to you the entire time? Your conduct is inexcusable and speaks volumes about your integrity. I will never make the mistake of working with Valleyview...
