Odds of me missing a distillery are slim on any trip I have time for! From Bushmills in Ireland, over to Scottish whiskys that will make your face want to turn inside out... The taste at this place was nothing like those ; )
There was a limit of 2 little samples, of course I tried the apple pie shine which was remarkably tasty, smooth and no bite to it whatsoever. Then his vodka, straight of course and I found it pleasant to taste!
Of course I'm not a consumer as much as I am a hobbyist so I wanted to see the stills... answer was no : ( That kind of turned me off buying right there.
Although the prices are not "affordable" for someone that drinks, it would be a nice souvenir and I fully intended on returning when I figured out what I wanted... but got lost and had to race to the ferry or get stuck until the next day. I missed out!
My suggestion, pick up one of the Apple Pie small bottles at least in case you get lost and ... thirsty? : )

Read moreOur family took a detour to stop by this place and it was absolutely worth it. The gentleman, who I presume is the owner, was friendly and knowledgeable. We know our spirits and these were well made, they were very clean and had a nice kick. There's obviously a lot of craft and care that goes into making these unique drinks (no wheat or grains, only honey). It's a bonus that the bottles look so beautiful.
