Going in for lunch today to try this spot out, as I've heard many good things. I get a few items to try from the meat counters, and move to buy a meal from the menu. Looking at their portion sizes, I was unsure if I would finish as much food as they say they give you, So I looked for a smaller item on the menu, and found a Kids Burger with a 4oz patty, one of it not the only smaller options on the menu over the double sized regular 8oz patty or their regular Main offerings. (I have to mention it is not a clear option to add a 4oz patty to the build-a-burger, the menu specifies a 8oz patty and your choice of topping + fries) The older lady worker today takes my order and I proceed to try and order the kids menu Burger Meal, and without asking me if it was Dine-In or Take-Out, or another word from me, I was immediately cut off and met with rudeness from the cashier and a flat out "No you can't order that, You're not a child" The entire interaction with her was filled with undertones of judgement and rudeness, her scoffing noises didn't help. She begins to argue I cannot order a Kids Meal, until the person I was with had to step in and say to her what if it was for a child I'm ordering food for at home? She reluctantly agrees once again and says "Fine I guess we'll do take out" Once paid, she then proceeds to turn around and very clearly talk to the other workers just out of earshot about me as they were all turning to look at us repeatedly. I find it absolutely ridiculous to be faced with such attitude for wanting a Kids Menu item as an adult, Or being practically told in the situation I do not have a kid with me that I cannot buy them food unless they're here physically
Overall, The burger was good, But the wait staff need to learn manners, attitudes, and to not be judgemental before I ever return.
EDIT: They gave me the wrong pie as well! Out of the entire nasty experience they also only managed to get ONE item right that I got from the Deli Counter! Laughably...
Read moreI’ve been a customer here on and off for about 25 years - always enjoyed the homemade approach to lunch.
Today’s negative experience was a first, and honestly pretty disappointing. We ordered identical classic turkey sandwiches with a side of soup, except one order was clearly requested multiple times with NO MAYO.
When the food arrived one order was presented as no mayo, but when we looked at it, we found mayo on the bread, tomato’s, etc. While there was no mayo added to the sandwich bread, there was quite a lot of residuals from the prep activities. While frustrated by careless approach to prep, we asked to have the sandwich remade.
The order was remade, but when it was delivered, the kitchen staff member advised if we had requested no mayo for allergy purposes, we needed to specify as a mayo allergy. I was floored. I picked up the receipt, pointed to the note stating no mayo, and asked what it meant. He said, it means no mayo but it doesn’t mean there’s an allergy. What I took this to mean is that the customer should be prepared to eat the sandwich containing mayo residuals even though they requested no mayo, unless specifically stating there is an allergy.
What’s disappointing here is the implication that careless prep habits are somehow the customer’s issue. It could have been avoided by a) switching to a clean knife, b) preparing the no mayo order first, or really any other logical approach. These are decisions a customer has no control over.
As a small business, I’m sure it’s frustrating to have food spoilage over such a simple mistake but the customer is not to blame here. It’s not really going to help your business to drive...
Read moreEvery time I head to the turkey house and deli, it's always a good time there. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the products and aren't afraid to help out or answer your questions. The person named Josh who worked there helped both me and my mom today. The stuff I got was the housemade turkey pasta sauce, then followed by the turkey sausage stuffing. Then I saw they had a new product and it was the sweet siricha turkey bites. I then followed that by getting the Indian style butter chicken turkey bites and the new Kentucky bourbon BBQ bites as well.i got three of the feta and spinach cordon Bleu as well as five turkey pepperoni sticks(now three cause they are super delicious) and five turkey jerky as well. To finish it off, I got three turkey stuffed cabbage rolls, and they offer extra sauce on top as well. My mom got one turkey sausage roll and seven pepperoni sticks as well. We love coming to this place and we'll always be back thanks to the products, and the loving staff that...
