NB Distillers — Local services in Welland

We were visiting the area and were very excited to stop by to try their products, especially after hearing great reviews of the whisky and rum. We booked a tasting through the website the day before and received a confirmation email. When we arrived at the shop at our appointment time, the doors were locked and the lights were off. There was a note on the door about not being there on a Thursday, but as this was a Friday and within operating hours on the door, we were very confused. We tried calling the number but did not get through to anyone.

The next day we were at the Welland Farmer's Market and we saw the table set up for NB Distillers. We asked the man there about what happened the day before and why no one was there. He said he had been running late that day and must have gotten there after we arrived. This would have been after an hour of opening hours listed. We asked about the tasting options with the snacks on the website and if we could reschedule an appointment to try those. He said those options on the website don't actually exist as they don't offer food there and there wouldn't be any cocktails. He said the website was out of date and these options shouldn't show up anymore (as of writing this review, these options are still listed). He offered for us to come by later that day, but we already had other plans lined up and so we couldn't make it.

We'd like to try next time we're in town, and hopefully we can give a proper review then. Until then, I'd suggest to the company owner to make sure the shop is actually open at operating hours as listed, and to remove any of the additional service information on the website so others aren't...

I sampled a very small amount at my town market. I purchased a bottle, I did not open it tonight until I ran out of my crown royal which I was mixing with diet Coke. This is the smoothest and most delicious rye and Diet Coke, I’ve ever had now I am drinking it straight on ice. Once again this is the smoothest most enjoyable whiskey I have ever had. Thank you so much for selling me this at my market. I’ll also like to say the espresso vodka is to die for. It is amazing the espresso vodka in my Spanish coffee like I said this whiskey is the best whiskey I have ever had and I am a big whiskey drinker. I’m a big scotch drinker, but I will definitely purchase this in place of my scotch. It is so smooth it will hit your palate in the most enjoyable way, no more Diet Coke for me with this rye is...

I've seriously tried 3 items so far.

1. the Chak De Rum. I don't even like rum, but I hesitantly tried it at a friend's house and dreamt of that rum for two days until I tried some more. I had to buy some. I love the Chak De. It's SO good.

2. the Impresso (coffee vodka). Also dangerously delicious. Great over ice. It's such a nice treat.

3. the Maple Whiskey BBQ sauce. A little bit sweet, a little bit spicy. It's very nice on chicken and would also go great on ribs.

What's nice about everything i've tried, though, is that as flavourful as everything is, nothing is overbearing. It is all very well balanced, delicious and smooth.

The owner, Raj, also is a very nice, friendly man. I will be back buying more things. I highly recommend this fantastic hidden...
