Whistler used to be one of our family's favorite destinations, and we visited at least 3-5 times per year for the last 20 years.
However, in the last couple of years, it seems that things have changed for the worse.
The runs are not as well groomed as they used to be and dangerous areas are not marked as clearly. Many runs are also frequently closed. Today, we even witnessed someone getting stuck waist-deep in a river in the middle of a run.
Additionally, the new practice of snow blasting during the day is disrupting and causes loud, sudden noises that create an intimidating atmosphere.
The selection of food at the mountain restaurants has also been reduced to a bare minimum and our favorite huts are now permanently closed.
It's disappointing to see the excellence of service that used to be a hallmark of Whistler Blackcomb diminishing.
